    I love Scott Olsen.

The Marlins took RHP Brett Sinkbeil with the 19th pick in the 2006 draft.
Sinkbeil, 21, was 5-1 with a 2.45 ERA, 45 H and 75/23 K/BB in 69 2/3 IP in his third year at Missouri. His good low-90s fastball and slider combine to make him a potential third starter.

Dontrelle Willis won a second straight start by going the distance Wednesday in the Marlins' 8-1 victory over the Giants.
Willis allowed six hits, walked three and struck out three in the 116-pitch outing. The last two hits came at the start of the ninth, causing the Marlins to get the bullpen going, but Willis got Steve Finley to fly out and Lance Niekro to ground into a double play to end it. Willis has a 2.08 ERA during his last five starts.

Single-A Jupiter's Trevor Hutchinson struck out eight in seven scoreless innings on Wednesday.
Hutchinson, who missed 2005 following rotator cuff surgery, is 2-1 with a 1.74 ERA, 45 H and 33/9 K/BB in 42 2/3 IP in the FSL. He seems ready to return to Double-A, which is where he spent 2004 before getting hurt

Marlins prospect Gaby Sanchez suffered a broken hand on Monday.
Sanchez, one of the Marlins' top prospects, will miss around six weeks with the injury. He was hitting .317 with 14 home runs and 40 RBI in 55 games for low Single-A Greensboro prior to the injury.

An MRI Friday showed that Josh Willingham has a strained left hand.
Willingham is not expected to play in the series against San Diego. "We're just making sure that it's nothing more than what you think it is," manager Joe Girardi said. "If everything comes out all right, which I think it will, we'll give him a few days off here and play him when we get back to Florida.'' Joe Borchard will pick up at-bats in the meantime.

Scott Olsen earned a win by holding the Padres to one run and two hits over seven innings on Saturday night.
It was a 1-1 game when Olsen was removed for a pinch-hitter in the top of the eighth. The Marlins took the lead that inning after Mike Jacobs singled in Hanley Ramirez against Alan Embree. Embree had just been brought in the game to face the lefty after an excellent outing from Clay Hensley, who turned out to be the hard-luck loser. Olsen struck out eight and walked one while prevailing for a third straight start. It might be a good idea to bench him when he faces Toronto in his next start, but he's worth owning in all NL-only leagues.

Josh Willingham (hand) won't return to the starting lineup until Wednesday at the earliest.
Willingham has been out since straining his wrist while swinging during Tuesday's game. Joe Borchard will continue to start in his place

Mike Jacobs left Sunday's game in the seventh inning to rest his sore ankle.
Jacobs said the ankle has bothered him for over a week. He thinks he will be fine if he sits for a few games. He is day-to-day

Marlins placed outfielder Josh Willingham on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to June 7, with a strained ligament in his left hand.
Willingham will be eligible to return on June 22 and could be ready then. In the meantime, the Marlins will use Cody Ross, Joe Borchard and Chris Aguila in left field.

Wes Helms went 3-for-4 with two homers against his former team as the Marlins beat the Braves 6-5 in 10 innings on Wednesday night.
Pinch-runner Reggie Abercrombie scored the winning run on Mike Remlinger's throwing error in the bottom of the 10th. Helms was only playing tonight because of Mike Jacobs' sore ankle. He doubled his homer total for the year.

Poor Cody Ross, too. I wouldn't be surprised if he has a broken jaw.

Ricky Nolasco yielded one run and five hits over seven innings Thursday in a victory over the Braves.
Nolasco has turned in four quality starts in his last five outings and his ERA is down to 3.06. He's not yet an option in mixed leagues, but he could remain an asset in NL-only leagues. He'll face the Orioles in Baltimore next week

Scott Olsen yielded one run in seven innings and struck out eight to beat the Blue Jays on Friday night.
It's quite a role that the Marlins, especially their starting pitchers, are on. The club has now won six games in a row. Olsen also struck out eight last time out and is 4-0 with a 1.95 ERA in his last four starts. It'd still be very risky to pick him up in mixed leagues, but he should have value in NL-only leagues all season long

Josh Johnson picked up his sixth win of the season by limiting the Blue Jays to one run in 5 2/3 innings of work today.
Johnson struck out five, but he walked six and needed 120 pitches to retire just 17 batters. He also gave up eight hits, but that he was able to pitch out of jams when he obviously wasn't at his best is a strong statement by the youngster. Johnson is 5-2 and hasn't yielded more than three runs in any of his nine starts since moving into the rotation
