MIAMI -- Ideally, the Marlins are looking to rest catcher Paul Lo Duca at least once a week. Sunday marked the two-time All-Star catcher's first day off.
"I'd like to get him out once a week, at least," manager Jack McKeon said. "I don't have any number [of off days]."
On Sunday, in the series finale with the Nationals, Matt Treanor got the nod behind the plate.
Lo Duca, who turns 33 on Tuesday, started the first five games, largely because McKeon wanted his regular backstop to catch the entire staff.
