Marlins May the real Leo Nunez please stand up

Official: Leo Nunez admits using fake documents - MLB - Yahoo! Sports

I'm really confused here because it says he used fake documents to sign a professional contract but he has been playing baseball as Leo Nunez for over a decade. Whatever happens, nice to meet you Juan Carlos Oviedo!!

This could be very interesting, though as ltr said supposedly he and the forger are in trouble for faking documents to sign his last contract? He's been playing since he 2000?!?!?

According to Big Papi in Dominican years Nunez would be 40.

Re: May the real Leo Nunez please stand up

Juan Carlos Oviedo was arrested on Thursday in his native Dominican Republic and will be brought to trial on charges of using a false identity.
We originally heard that Oviedo (formerly known as Leo Nunez) would not face any charges after admitting to using a fake identity, but that's apparently not the case. The Marlins placed him on the restricted list in September, but it's not clear how that will affect his non-tender status. Regardless, it doesn't sound like he will be returning to the United States in the near future. Stay tuned.
I think the Marlins will tender him a contract but who knows.

Juan Carlos Oviedo will not face charges in the Dominican Republic related to his identity fraud case.
Oviedo, formerly known as Leo Nunez, was arrested on Thursday in the Dominican while trying to secure a visa under his real name. But the warrant was later revealed to be out of date and he was released quickly without paying bail. The Dominican authorities will not press charges against the 29-year-old right-hander because he is fully cooperating with the investigation into his own crime. He should be back in the United States by spring training.
I now think Oviedo will get tendered a contract.

Officially by your team's former closer. Nice how that worked out ;DIf this happens, does he accept being a non closer well? He should, and be grateful he's not in some run down, drippy jail.
