I expect big things from this Marlins squad and Lindstrom is a major art of that. The man throws nothing but heat reaching triple digits on the radar gun. The Marlins traded Kevin Gregg in part because of salary but mostly because they have Matt waiting and ready. Nunez is a great short term answer at closer but the Marlins will need Lindstrom to close 30+ games for the Marlins to finish close to the top of the NL East. Hopefully a strain is all it is and he can bounce back. The Marlins will shut Matt Lindstrom down for 7-10 days because of what they're calling a strained rotator cuff.
That makes him very questionable for Opening Day. Leo Nunez is the obvious choice to close if Lindstrom can't, but it could be that the Marlins would go to a committee, with Logan Kensing and Renyel Pinto also in the mix.
