Marlins released catcher Matt Treanor.
With no takers in trade, Treanor was going to be non-tendered Friday. The Marlins, however, decided to let him go ahead of time in order to free up a spot in advance of the Rule 5 draft. Treanor figures to land a backup gig elsewhere. He's one of the catchers the Orioles could consider.
I am sure he can find a job somewhere but the question is, will there be a beach for his wife wherever he goes?
