Of course, this is until May 3rd and then later on in September.
Coming home from work, a great stress reliever is, well, shooting people. Nothing says stress relief like shooting a bunch of kids from Canada in team deathmatch. I became addicted to Modern Warfare 2 when, on a whim, I ordered it one night before it had came out. I had never played any Call of Duty game previously (since then I have played World at War and Modern Warfare, both enjoyable) and I'm slow to bounce from one game to the next. For example, I was hooked on Arkham Asylum.
I was used to multi-player with Halo 3, so this was something different for me. But it grew to be amazingly addictive, and I really haven't play anything else (Halo 3 is currently gathering dust and other airborne particles). I've neglected games like BioShock 2, which I have but haven't even played it once, as well as a couple of other games that before when I did not own an xBox 360, I really wanted to play, but now have neglected as well. It's good times.
I will begin a series of my top 5's from Modern Warfare 2. Today, we're going straight to the point, my favorite guns. DirtyKash's mom's boobs, however, did not make the cut.
5. AUG HBAR - Light Machine Gun
LMG's suck. They're too big, they take forever to reload, and have no additional weapon attachments (i.e. shotgun or grenade launcher). But the AUG separates itself from the rest of the LMGs because it is smaller, it has a quick reload, and whether it's with iron sights or the ACOG, it can be an excellent long range weapon. But like the LMGs, you get an ample amount of ammunition.
4. TAR-21 - Assault Rifle
It took me until my third prestige to actually use this weapon. It's one of the more bizarre looking guns, and even more so with the Mars Holographic Sight attachment. It has some nasty recoil, which can easily discourage a user, at least until you find out it's perhaps the most powerful machine gun. You can turn this bad ass weapon into a sniper rifle by controlling your bursts of ammunition, easily gaining one shot kills if you go for the head. The gun seems to be even more effective with a silencer.
3. SPAS-12 - Shotgun
What makes this such a great gun, is something that shouldn't be but until CoD fixes things, it's maintains a level of power hard to contend with. This is typically a one shot kill weapon in medium and close range, but tends to have pretty extreme range for a close combat gun. What you're used to in Halo 3, this shotgun destroys it. When you attach the grip to the shotgun, it becomes a more accurate weapon. Just what you need with a super shotgun with range.
2. Barrett .50cal - Sniper Rifle
Everyone has a favorite sniper rifle. It's just a matter of preference. Many like the intervention and it is more accurate, but the fire rate is awful. I enjoy the WA-2000 with it's next to no recoil feature, but it's also very weak. For me, it's always been the Barrett. It's also the only weapon I will use Thermal Scope on, making it a force in team deathmatch or domination type games. It's usually a one shot kill, chest and up, 2 at the most. But, if you use full metal jacket, it becomes a terror, like it would make any sniper rifle a complete monster.
1. SCAR-H - Assault Rifle
It's a pretty simple gun, I've always found it to serve any need for me. It's great in close quarters, it's great for range, it's pretty powerful from the get-go, and it's been my go to weapon with full metal jacket. It's also one of the few guns that are o.k. with an ACOG. In addition, it's fantastic to get bullet penetration kills. The one drawback on this gun I have always found, is the size of the clips. I'm not someone that ever uses the extended mags even if I have them unlocked.
