Oops. Jinxed them. Right after I say that, the Yankees cash in three runs and take the lead.

I am really starting to buy into all this Greg Maddux for Cy Young thing. Another solid outing today against the Brew Crew.

still, he should be NL pitcher of the month at least.

definitely...just to put it in perspective IIRC Haren, Blanton, and Zito all had months where they went undefeated last year...and clearly none of them were even mentioned with the Cy Young (and they shouldn't have been)...the difference here is that Maddux had his month the first month of the season...that's not to say he won't continue it and I hope he does. He's been one of my favorites and I do have an autographed pic of him w/ the Braves on my wall

Ouch. Jason Marquis and the Cards are getting lit up early. Nick Johnson hit a 2-run HR and Ryan Zimmerman followed that up with a 2-run HR of his own. 4-0 Nationals in the first inning.

Yankees have scored a run in every inning so far:

    4 in the first
    1 in the second
    2 in the third
    2 in the fourth
    3 in the fifth
    1 in the sixth
    3 in the seventh

just need a run in the eighth inning to get it done.

Wow, the Yankees did it. Miguel Cairo with an RBI single. The Yankees have scored a run in every single inning on the Blue Jays.

    DirtyKash at Toronto.

New York had its best offensive game of the season, scoring in every inning of a full game for just the second time in franchise history and first since a 14-1 victory over St. Louis on July 26, 1939.

The Yankees were just the sixth team in American League history to achive the feat and the first since the Kansas City Royals did it against Oakland on September 14, 1998.

14 homeruns in April for Pujols ... a new major league record. This guy is for real, B.

And hmm ... plenty of runs today, Tigers put up 18, Yankees put up 17, Brewers put up 16.

Just for trivia purposes, the homerun streak record is 8 games and held jointly by Ken Griffey Jr., Don Mattingly, and Dale Long.

Mench is facing Fausto Carmona tonight, Carmona got lit up in his last start. Go Mench!
