    FoxSports Power Rankings

Where do the find these idiots?Do they just pick them up off the street and tell them to write these out?

The White Sox,even though I hate them, should be number one in the preseason power rankings simply because they are the defending World Series Champions.

And everybody is due for a regression because nobody can put up a string of good seasons, according to this idiot at least.

The Cardinals will have to catch some breaks to get 90 wins. No way they're that high.

Also,Detroit finishing second in the AL Central?Did he see this team's pitching last year? They totally blew, and they aren't any better! And thier offense I think is way overrated.

Their SP's will be pretty solid with Nate Robertson, Jeremy Bonderman, Mike Maroth, Justin Verlander. Its the Bullpen that ****ing blows.

Detroit's bullpen is better with the addition of Todd Jones, and Rodney is solid.

Nate Robertson-The 16 game LOSER who posted the 4.48 ERA last year

Jeremy Bonderman-The 13 game LOSER who posted a 4.57 ERA last year

Mike Maroth-The 14 game LOSER who posted a 4.74 ERA last year

Justin Verlander-0-2 with a 7.15 ERA last year

Yep,those guys look scary to me.

I just ain't buying into all the hype. It's not that I am a Detroit hater (I save my hate for Chicago),I just don't buy all the hype.

They arent the 2nd best team in the Central, but considering Bonderman (23) and Verlander (21 i believe) are under 25 i believe. Robertson had an ERA lower than some of the guys that DIDNT lose 16 games (Ahem, Matt Clement went 13-6, had an ERA at 4.6, And your boy Jake Westbrook that went 15-15.). Mark Hendrickson went 11-8 and his ERA was damn near 6. (5.90 to be Exact). Bonderman still won 14 games and had went the distance four time. Even with departed AL ERA champ, Kevin Milwood, he was still 9-11. Jason Johnson was 8-13. I just think Detroit has a solid rotation but even with Todd Jones (who imploded late last season) the bullpen is horrible right now.

Maroth and Bonderman both had 17 quality starts ... they're inconsistent but they're getting better.

Besides, that was last year. This is this year.

Verlander and Bonderman are... what.. 22, 23 ish? They'll be a lot better in 2006. Maybe not.. enough to make Detroit THAT great, but, they'll turn heads. I hope they call up Zumaya, he's got some wicked stuff.

Besides, who trusts anything from FOX?

The Red Sox are the team to beat? Are you kidding me? They've got too many question marks IMHO to put them at #1.

they're definitely up there, but I just don't understand how "they're the team to beat." The champs are always the team to beat.

Cleveland is better than Detroit, period. Cleveland contended until the last series of the season. While dealing Coco Crisp hurt them a little, I still think they can contend.

As far as the Sawx, I could see them fall behind Toronto for 3rd.

Not necessarily. Both the Florida Marlins and Chicago Bulls clearly weren't the teams to beat after winning championships.

I think Atlanta is a little high, the Mets too.

And the A's, damn. #5, really? Not disagreeing yet, I'm not up on my AL teams much. But that surprised me a lot.
