    Another player tests positive

NEW YORK (AP) -- Colorado Rockies outfielder Jorge Piedra was suspended 10 days Monday for violating baseball's new policy on performance-enhancing drugs.

The suspension begins with the Rockies game at Arizona on Monday night, the commissioner's office said.

Piedra, who was recalled from Triple-A Colorado Springs of the Pacific Coast League on Wednesday and sent back down the next day, is the second player to be publicly identified under the major leagues' tougher rules. Tampa Bay outfielder Alex Sanchez was suspended for 10 days last Monday.

Great that this is happening, but they need to get some bigger names.

Circular logic aside, Mr Mims, you have yet to provide a single credible reason why you are, in fact, hot.

You hit the nail in the head. That's what exactly I was thinking when I read that piece on MLB.com. It's good to catch everyone, but I like to see household names get caught. Alex Sanchez has been in the majors for awhile so he is a name that diehard baseball fans are familiar with. This guy who just got caught is someone I don't know so it's no biggie. The household name who gets caught using steroids will become big-time news.

It's nice to see MLB is not fooling around though and anytime, someone gets caught and be brandied about in the media is something that he can't be proud of.

What, should they frame a star so you can get the big name you want?

Newsflash...........no "big names" are gonna get caught, duh. They are smarter than that. Besides all the guys with big names are lucky just to get their names on the back of their jerseys.......unfreakingbelieveable......

*Yawn* When a player of star status gets caught and suspended then we will know it really works.

Ah, a defensive replacement outfielder that just got optioned back to AAA.

Wayne Franklin has to be next...or John McDonald. I bet Joe McEwing is going to get caught eventually too...

They won't have to frame anybody. Unless we're supposed to believe that only minor leaguers and weak hitters use steroids. If that's true, then why should anybody be worried about steroids. I find it very hard to believe, that the bigger name players don't take steroids especially if these lesser names do.
