No Cliff Lee talk?
I'd give it to Contreras before I'd give it to Jon "Judy" Garland.
Marshall: MILSWANCAs?
Ted: Wait, I can get this. Mothers I'd like to sleep with and never call again.
Barney: Circle gets the square!
The 2074 MSL NL Gold Glove Recipient at Third Base.
Johan Santana finished off the Twins season today with another win (16-7) throwing 9 K's in 7 innings giving up only 1 run and 3 hits.
The guy's stats are better than everyone in virtually every single category other than wins. Should win the CYA and will end up being a victim to dipshit sportswriters who only look at wins. I -still- say the players (in all sports) should be the ones voting for the awards as well as the all-stars.
*sigh*
all rankings are for the AL only and yes ERA and Wins are not good stats but they count highly in the voters' mind
Colon: 21 wins (1st), 3.48 ERA (8th), 33 GS, 2 CG (T-10th), 222.2 IP (7th), 157 K's (T- 8th), 1.16 WHIP (3rd), 43 BB
Santana 16 wins (T-5th), 2.92 ERA (2nd), 33 GS, 3 CG (T-4th). 231.2 IP (2nd), 238 K's (1st), 0.98 (1st), 45 BB
case in point Santana should win but doesn't have enough wins to over throw Colon's very solid season with 5 more wins
