I was expecting this topic to be about Milton Bradley and Jeff Kent.

    can you say 3 way tie? A's winning 9 - 2 in the 9th, Yanks losing 9 - 0 in the 7th, and the Indians are losing 10 - 3 in the 8th.

I did a lot of good things as a sim league GM.

Ah, give me something clever to say here.

Yankees won 6-2 today...next up for them is the ever-pesky KC Royals.

Its still a 3 way tie between the Yankees, A's and Indians. The Blue Jays may have fallen out of it now and the Twins are just 3.5 games back. The race is still hot and its anyones game. Every game is a crucial one. Who is going to end up with the playoff birth?

As long as either the Yanks or the Sox don't make the playoffs, I'll be happy. To me if either of them don't make the playoffs, then they should be contracted for all the money they spend.

As I said in my earlier post, the A's weren't even expected to contend this year and especially after their horrible start threw May. They've already exceeded my expectations. One bay area writer and Giants' apologist, Ray Ratto, said the A's would be lucky if they won 60 games the whole year. Well, I got news for you buddy: They've already won 70! I would still love it if they made the playoffs to give the young guys a taste of what's to come for them in 2006 and 2007.

I have to agree with your assessment of the Jays now...

A's and Yanks are tied for the Wild Card. A's are only .5 behind the Angels and it appears the Yanks will only be 1.5 behind the Sox.

Now the Yanks are now up by half a game on the Angels for the Wild Card and the A's lead the AL West.

The Jays can really hurt the Yanks and RedSox down the stretch.

Just to get on the record:

I see the AL Playoff teams as: Boston, New York, Chicago and Oakland
I see the NL Playoff teams as: Atlanta, Houston, St Louis, and San Diego.

I see St Louis out of the NL, and New York out of the AL, with St Louis over New York in the Series in 5 games.

Hey buddy, I'm a Yankee fan too. I'm pleased If they even get in. I'll admit in May/June I said this team has got 90 wins max in them. I still might be right, but I think the winner in the AL East is going to be at about 94 wins, and it wouldn't surprise me if both get that. Thing is, the Red Sox are just too damn good at home, and they have 21 games left there. I think they'll get the East crown if they just hold their own which won't be difficult. There's just no where in the Red Sox remaining schedule where I think they will slip up and go on a losing streak. Maybe in the 7 game stretch with Chicago, Aniheim and New York. Maybe.

The Yanks, A's and Angels all have a tough 9 or 11 game stretch that could knock them out and perhaps if the Indians get hot, at that time allow them to sneak in.

One thing is certain: I'll be a very happy man with MLB Extra Innings for the next month!

RedSox and Yanks need to worry about the Jays and DRays. These teams could squash your 94 game winner coming from the East idea.
