I did love this line particularly:
"That’s the kind of sophistication you don’t find in small market front offices like the Yankees. "

Nightenfail and Ken Rosenfalse are the best.Encarnacion is not part of 3-way deal. He was discussed in trade but would go to Tampa in separate trade at later time i

Sorry you got fleeced when you gave away 2 MVPs because of payroll bullshit, but that doesn’t mean you can make up for it by treating Realmuto like he's Johnny Bench. Jeter’s such a tool."The Marlins are not wavering. They want a top 0-3 year player, someone like Cody Bellinger or Ozzie Albies, and on top of that they want some good prospects."
Grandal to the Brewers on a 1-year, $18.25M deal, which is just about $350k above the QO from the Dodgers that he turned down. I mean, he couldn't have just gone back to the Dodgers and asked them for the extra $350k? Seems like a spiteful move.

Benching in the World Series probably the reason... but he deserved it.

It's looking like if Machado takes the White Sox's 8-year, $250 million offer, the Phillies probably go all-in on Harper. So, thanks, nerds, for trading Puig for nothing so then you can go full cop out and roll out Alex "I Used To Be A Prospect" Verdugo as the starting right fielder. This after you passed on Verlander and J.D. Martinez so you can get under the tax. It cost us a World Series twice. No big deal.
at least you didn't get under the luxury tax to blow a ton of money on a 2B who can't even get to league average batting in Colorado and a RP who blew his Achilles and seems to give up a run every appearance. Not to mention we did the same with Verlander.

You'd rather have Joe Kelly than Zach Britton? And far be it from me to make Yankees fans feel better about their signings, but how much more offense do you need out of that lineup? They just need their second baseman to not embarrass himself in the 9-spot in the lineup, but more importantly to pick up the rest of the iffy infield on defense.

Welp Reds I guess finish overhauling that embarrassment of a rotation of the last 3 years.
In no particular order:
Alex Wood
Tanner Roark
Luis Castillo
Tyler Mahle
Sonny Gray
Anthony Descalfini
I'd feel a lot more comfortable with Kluber at the top of the rotation and sliding everyone else down 1, but if it's gonna cost us Suarez or Senzel I guess I can see why it never happened.

The Padres have offered 8-year, $250+ million deals to Harper and Machado.
I'm not familiar with July 4, 2012 in context to the Wild and I don't feel like watching a 9 minute Youtube video to find out.
Can you fill me in on the context here?
