Go Cubs Go, Go Cubs Goooooooooooooooooo!
Honestly, the only teams I don't want to win are the Royals and the Cubs. Everyone else wouldn't bother me.

There's really only two teams I don't want to see win
Dodgers - obvious reasons
Cubs - Sorry Trendy, but I'd almost rather the Dodgers win. But it's not that I hate the Cubs, it's that I don't want to have to sit through a lot of ad nauseam overblown praise of Theo Epstein and how he was able to lift two overblown "curses" to take both teams to WS victories, not to mention vast amounts of overkill about how Back to the Future "predicted" the win despite the fact that they wouldn't be beating Miami in it.

i dont care who wins honestly. my mom is a die hard met fan, and although id never root for them, shes already preordered tickets to the nlcs and world series if they make it... and i was invited to join, so if they do make it that far, ill be going to citi field for the nlcs and world series... so thats pretty tough to root against. other than that though, i have no care at all who wins, ive always been a gigantic andrew mccutchen fan, so i guess the pirates by default will be my adopted team.
I'd like to see the Cubs do it just to get the drought behind them and the "Back to the Future" connection. The Yanks are already out, I'm good to go.
On the surface the Back to the Future connection seems cool, but with the way people like to overkill things it'd become annoying quick.

Don't care what you guys want lol If we can get past the Bucs tonight, we have a pretty damn good shot!

Who the hell cares if it gets annoying. It would be pretty damn awesome if the Cubs win the World Series this year.

I'm with Trendy, I don't care if the world is annoyed.....107 freaking years is tooooooooooo damn long for a fan base to wait for a World Series win!
Something is happening tonight that has never happened before, the Cubs and Pirates are playing each other in the postseason.
Tonight's line-up:
Fowler CF Schwarber RF Bryant LF Rizzo 1B Le Stella 3B Castro 2B Montero C Russell SS Arrieta P
Polanco RF Harrison 3B McCutchen CF Marte LF Cervelli C Walker 2B Mercer SS Rodriguez 1B Cole P
Jake Arrieta (22-6, 1.77 ERA) has the first sub-2.00 ERA for the Cubs since Grover Cleveland Alexander in 1920.
Gerrit Cole (19-8, 2.60 ERA, the Pirates have gone 8-1 in Cole's nine career starts against the Cubs, including a 3-1 record this year.
Andrew McCutchen has played seven postseason games the last two years and has not driven in a run. Mostly due to a lack of opporunity, the Pirates' 1-2 hitters have batted .125 in those seven postseason games the last two years, including a 1-for-38 showing in the 2013 NLDS against St. Louis. He is 8-for-23 with two doubles and no home runs off Arrieta.
Anthony Rizzo, who finished the season with 31 home runs, 101 RBIs and an .899 OPS, has gone 6-for-17 with no homers against Cole. Rizzo and Bryant are a combined 9-for-26 against Cole.
Here are a few numerical nuances about the Cubs season and this match-up with the Pirates tonight. Today's date is October 7, numerically it translates to 10-7, it has been 107 years since the Cubs won a World Series.
The start time of the game in Pittsburgh is 8:08 but it will be 7:08 in Chicago, in military time that's 19:08, the Cubs last WS win was 1908.
Their 97 wins matches their wins of 2008, the last year they were in the post season. They won 48 games on the road this season, the most since 1945 (won 49 on the road), the last time they made a World Series appearance.
All very interesting, but of course if they lose tonight it doesn't mean crap!
Go Cubs Go!
Can both teams move on and St Louis have sort of "thing" happen so they get replaced?
Also, when can I start drinking for tomorrows game? Is now to soon?
HollywoodLeo: You and Kingdom always annoy me
"Oh, don't mind me, I'm rebuilding now" then you win at least 80 games

Not to rub salt in it or anything Leo, but they didn't get in for anyone root for them this time, I will be happy for them to finally get one. I am kind of torn on that issue for the Astros, they have never won....there might be a handful of Cubs fans alive from 1908 that might be in a nursing home talking to plants.
I was speaking of myself as a Padres fans but, as you just pointed out a couple of them, Astros fans and Rangers fans have also been waiting their whole lives to see their team win a World Series. Meanwhile, the Pirates have been a perennial laughing stock since the glory days of the 70s, not to mention Kansas City.
But we're all supposed to jump on the Cubs bandwagon just because they happened to win one at the turn of the 20th century before going on a long drought and because of some made up curse involving a goat?
This isn't about you specifically, though. That's just the narrative the media and a lot of fans that aren't fans of Chicago's division rivals like to beat.
Cubs fans are hardly unique in sitting through years of misery and failure. The media and a lot of fans just like to highlight them because they're Chicago and tradition and lore.
