That was a hell of a series, Mofo. I know it's no consolation for you, but the Dodgers fought damn hard. Much respect, except for Utley

I don't see it that way. They were 4-for-47 with RISP. That's fucking pathetic. I shouldn't have to expect a Mickey Hatcher to hit 2 home runs in a series, if only we can field a proper team that can legitimately compete in the playoffs every year. It just shows how much of a joke the Dodgers have been that I'm complaining that they've never gone on a fluky World Series run in my generation.
Merkin of GIANTSBOARD.COM: GAMEBALL and JOKER ==> GIANTS at RANGERS 11/01 WORLD SERIES GAME 5
Dodgers??? What the hell??? Why you talking about the Dodgers…..I will tell you ……when I was a kid the Giants broke my heart…..the year was 1987…..I was still young so I figured that if it wasn't 1987, then 1988 was certainly our year…..most of the same team coming back and hell we didn't find out stride until the second half anyway…..yup was going to be 1988…well…..lets just say 1988 isn't famous for a Giants Victory…..and I was not only crushed my Giants weren't back in the postseason…..I got to watch the storybook Dodgers take the fucking title….Mickey Fucking Hatcher….no speed, no bat, no power, no defense….what the FUCK……well I tell you what…..as bad as I felt on that day…….I have to imagine that's what those Dodger fucks are feeling right now……looking at how their year when to SHIT….how their owner screwed them over and how the Giants have THEIR STORYBOOK team ride into October all the way to the promised land……Hey Call me a Sore Winner if you will, but part of being on top of the mountain is rubbing it into the faces of those less fortunate….
Congratulations to the NY Mets for advancing to the Conference Series.
Thanks for the heads up Leo.
ALCS Game 1
Thirty years ago, the Blue Jays and Royals played a memorable seven-game ALCS that featured the likes of George Bell, Bret Saberhagen, Lloyd Moseby, Bud Black, Dave Stieb and of course George Brett. He hit .348 in that match up helping the Royals come back from a 3-1 deficit. In August tensions flared between the clubs when Edinson Volquez plunked Toronto third baseman Josh Donaldson in the first inning. Things got testy when Volquez again went inside to Donaldson in the third, he took exception and benches cleared. In an after game interview Volquez called him "a baby". Then Yordano Ventura referred to Jose Bautista as a "nobody" and accused the Blue Jays of stealing signs. There have been sound bites that the clubs are putting in the past and want to play good baseball with no incidents, that could change with a few questionable pitch locations or a well timed bat flip or two.
This contest maybe between teams in two countries but eight countries will be represented, including the United States with 32. The Dominican Republic (six), Venezuela (five), Canada and Mexico (two) and Brazil, Australia and Cuba (one) also have players in the series.
Since July 22, 2014, the Royals are 150-96, including the postseason. That's the best record in baseball, and all that winning breeds swagger and confidence.
The Blue Jays with a mix of veterans and a young home grown pitching staff won 48 of 61 games in the last two months to win the AL East. Toronto hasn't won a World Series since 1993. Kansas City hasn't won one since '85. The Royals made their first postseason appearance in 29 years last season. The Blue Jays made their first in 22 years this year.
Tonight's line-up:
Rever LF Donaldson 3B Bautista RF Encarnacion DH Colabello 1B Tulowitzki SS Navarro C Pillar CF Goins 2B Estrada P
Escobar SS Zobrist 2B Cain CF Hosmer 1B Morales DH Moustakas 3B Perez C Gordon LF Rios RF Volquez P
Marco Estrada (13-8, 3.13 ERA) held the Rangers to one run in 6.1 innings during Game 3 of the ALDS.
Edinson Volquez (13-9, 3.55 ERA) gave up three runs on five hits with 8 Ks against the Astros in Game 3 of their ALDS
ALCS Game 2:
Kansas City has won eight consecutive ALCS games since a 2-1 loss to Toronto on Oct. 12, 1985.
Today's line-up:
Revere LF Donaldson 3B Bautista RF Encarnacion DH Colabello 1B Tulowitzki SS Martin C Pillar CF Goins 2B Price P
Escobar SS Zobrist 2B Cain CF Hosmer 1B Morales DH Moustakas 3B Perez C Gordon LF Rios RF Ventura P
David Price (9-1, 2.30 ERA) was charged with five runs in seven innings Oct. 8 in a 5-3 defeat to Texas in Game 1. His 5.23 ERA in postseason starts is baseball's 10th-worst all-time mark. He was ineffective at best in relief in during Game 4 on Monday, yielding three runs in three innings though he got credit for an 8-4 road victory. Alex Rios has faced him the most among Kansas City hitters with a .400 average and two homers in 30 at-bats.
Yordano Ventura (13-8, 4.08 ERA) went 0-1 with a 7.71 ERA in two starts against Houston in the division series, though one was cut short after two innings due to rain. He is 1-0 with a 3.75 ERA in two career starts against Toronto, with the win coming this season despite allowing five runs and six hits in seven innings.
Edwin Encarnacion left in the eighth inning to get X-rays on the middle finger of his left hand. The initial report was a strain of the ligament and Encarnacion was listed as day-to-day, but is scheduled to be in the line-up.
Lorenzo Cain is hitting .300 during a 10-game postseason hitting streak that is one shy of the club record set by Amos Otis from 1978-80.
Jose Bautista, went 0 for 1 with three walks in the opener. Bautista is 3 for 5 with a homer against Ventura, Justin Smoak is the only other Toronto hitter with more than one hit off him, and he's 2 for 8.
The Royals have won all three playoff games in which Salvador Perez has homered. The team has scored 19 runs in their last 18 innings at the plate.
NLCS Game 1:
The Cubs haven't been to a World Series since 1945, the Mets last played in the Fall Classic during the tumultuous Subway Series in 2000 when they lost to the Yanks 4-1. There's no goats, no black cats and no Bartman.
Tonight's line-up:
Fowler CF Schwarber LF Bryant 3B Rizzo 1B Castro 2B Soler RF Baez SS Ross C Lester P
Granderson RF Wright 3B Murphy 2B Cespedes LF d'Arnaud C Cuddyer 1B Flores SS Lagares CF Harvey P
Jon Lester (11-12, 3.34 ERA) pitched into the eighth inning in Game 1 of the NL Division Series against the Cardinals, but the Cubs sent on to lose, though managed to take the series to move on to face the Mets. This will be his career seventh appearance and fifth start in an LCS. He owns a 3.86 ERA in those games, with 27 strikeouts versus seven walks in 28 innings.
Matt Harvey (13-8, 2.71 ERA) had a five-inning stint Monday night in Game 3 which ended up a 13-7 victory over the Dodgers in the NL Division Series. He collected seven strikeouts and gave up two earned runs.
Russell Addison is out for the series, the Cubs have Baez in the line-up to replace him and added Quintin Berry to the roster. Lucas Duda not in the line-up for the Mets.
Pathetic performance by Toronto.
NLCS Game 2:
Mets lead the series 1-0, hope to make it 2-0 before heading to Chicago. Of the 20 NL clubs to win the first two games of a best-of-seven NLCS, 18 have advanced to the World Series.
Tonight's line-up:
Fowler CF Schwarber LF Bryant 3B Rizzo 1B Castro 2B Coghlan RF Montero C Baez SS Arrieta P
Granderson RF Wright 3B Murphy 2B Cespedes CF Duda 1B d'Arnaud C Conforto LF Flores SS Syndergaard P
Jake Arrieta (22-6, 1.77 ERA) he made a couple mistakes in his last outing against the Cardinals when he gave up four earned runs for the first time since mid-June in his first non-quality start in 22 outings, but the Cubs clobbered six homers to win. He has thrown 243.2 innings since the start of the regular season, 87 more than 2014. This year's count includes 14.2 innings in the postseason a shutout in Pittsburgh in the NL Wild Card Game, and 5.2 more against the Cardinals in Game 3 of the NLDS.
Noah Syndergaard (9-7, 3.24 ERA) pitched a scoreless inning of relief against he Dodgers in Game 5 of the NLDS on Thursday, in that game, 13 of the first 36 pitches registered at least 100 mph.He made his debut on May 12 against the Cubs he took the loss in that game, allowing three runs and six hits over 5.1 innings. He logged 150 innings during the regular season and another 7.1 postseason innings thus far.

But if you insist on micro-analyzing a joke, history dictates the Cubs' chances of making the World Series have diminished to about 12-20 percent.

I don't think it was micro analyzing, just saying losing two games on the road isn't exactly getting the shit kicked out of, especially since both were close games.
I know you really hate the Back to the Future II narrative (and frankly, it's the worst of the 3 movies to me) but jeez.

I would have shared that even if I liked the BTTF narrative. It was just funny.
It was created by a Mets fan page, though, so of course it's going to be a tad over the top in the verbiage.
And 2 was better than 3
