So glad we took a pass on Scherzer so we can sign the more "cost-efficient" McCarthy instead (oops!) and then have to rely on Mike Ballslinger and Chuck Colds all season.

Waaah, someone broke up a no-hitter/perfect game by getting on base via something other than a straight base hit

Cry me a river. If you want to get a perfect game or a no-hitter you need to earn it. The other team has absolutely no obligation to cater to it, nor should they.

If you don't want someone leaning into your pitch to get on base (one of the fundamental tennants of helping your team win) you probably shouldn't throw the ball near him.

And since Mofo alluded to it, if you don't want to lose your no-hitter to a bunt single then you should perhaps get the guy out at first.

All ranting aside I can at least see an argument with Tabata because technically allowing yourself to get beaned on purpose is illegal. But until Umpires actually start enforcing that rule I'm not going to vilify a hitter for using that means to get on base.

I'm half and half on this, I also disagree with the idea that bunting is somehow sleazy in the case of a no-hitter, how many games even high scoring have turned around in the bottom of the ninth? Too many to just give up to a possible no-hitter against you, I feel the same way about stealing with a big lead, games can turn on a dime. However, just as you say Leo, purposely leaning in to be plunked is against the rules, I have seen umpires enforce it, they don't give them the base, but it does have to be blatantly clear that it was intentional.

Foster, there is your series win against the Rays, awesome game by Marco Estrada, great catch by Donaldson (right into the arms of a Blue Jays fan), great run by Forsythe to end the perfect game. Jays win in the 12th with homer by Chris Colabello.

The rule is you get to keep what you catch in the stands, if it happens to be a player I don't care what uni he's in I'm not giving him back, at least for a day. They would have to pry him from my feminine fingers, just sayin'!!

It's just so beautiful (that catch) it brings tears to my eyes. But really, I'am guessing he takes a look sees a jays fan, and than makes that choice to jump in. He sees something else, and he doesn't make the leap.

    Also this tweet.

Wanted to send a Shoutout to the Jays fan who saved my face. Also was told young jays fan was ok. He's tough.

Still can't think why someone didn't try to pry him out of Oakland sooner than the Jays did. I am over the moon with what he's done. Now I know that it will cost us to keep him, but I hope we do.

Because not every team had a Brett Lawrie available to get Oakland to swap third basemen??

I would've loved to have Donaldson, but not if it meant parting with Seager and I'm sure the A's weren't interested in Alex Guerrero.

I think you're over valuing Lawrie.

Overvalued or not, Lawrie was as good as major league replacement for Donaldson as it was going to get for the A's. They weren't going to get Kris Bryant or either of the Seager brothers in return.

Really, Mets' scoreboard keeper?? You couldn't take a few minutes to look up Jason Bourgeois playing right field for the Cincinnati Reds?????

Be thankful you don't have to deal with Jarrod Saltalamacchia!

God I made a lot of those posts. I'll admit, I am a prisoner of the moment.

Also, Lawrie hasn't been hurt yet this year. I think thats what killed my view on his time with the Jays. He never was able to play a season without an extended time on the DL, except for one year. That year was his best year, go figure.
