Giants Bonds flip-flop #175: He now wants to play

Barry Bonds, who three days ago said he didn't think he'd play this year, wrote on his website that he still hopes to return during 2005.
''I'm still unsure of if and when I'll be able to come back this year,'' Bonds wrote. ''This has not changed in the past couple of weeks. I'm working hard on the bike and the elliptical machine, but I'm just not there yet. While I continue to progress, I do not want to push myself to come back sooner and ultimately jeopardize the health of my knee and suffer a setback. However, I still remain optimistic.'' If Bonds does come back next month, he might not be anything more than a pinch-hitter.

Good point General. Forget about the HR record, how about the flip-flop record. (Currently held by Kerry)

Circular logic aside, Mr Mims, you have yet to provide a single credible reason why you are, in fact, hot.

I knew this guy would flip-flop again. I'm surprised Mariotti doesn't like him more than he does.

Yeah you can't be surprised by this. I knew ths would happen especially with Benitez coming back. And George W. Bush is far and away the biggest flip flopper of all time.

I heard that players on the DL/injured list are not subject to steroid testing...can anyone verify this or not (with a source obviously, not your opinion)?

Bonds has been on the DL all year and he was tested in April. There's your source.

Sorry for the confusion, but when I said source, I meant credible source. Again, sorry for any confusion there.

Yeah good one. It was all over ESPN the day he was tested. People on the roster get tested and it can't be anymore simple than that.

good one, you've yet to provide a source. And funny how you get all defensive when I never even mentioned Bonds. I asked if someone could show me where it said that players on the DL are or are not tested. Simple question because I have yet to come across something that isn't vague in regards to that.

Reefer said that players on the roster are tested. Bonds is on the 60 day DL..he's not on the 25 man.

Since the thread was about Bonds, I thought it was a relevant case to the subject. Relevance is not getting defensive, simply making an example. Bonds was on the DL and was still tested along with Vizquel and eight other players. Pedro Gomez was of course all over it. ESPN is the source. I don't get the confusion at all and I am simply astonished that you haven't heard anything about this. I did some "real" digging for this one on Yahoo.com. It was only the first thing that popped up. Enjoy.

And General its the 40 man roster, not the 25 man roster.

Are you invisible General? If so, why?
