Already an issue with the replay challenge when it comes to ball drops and bobbles during a double play, when clearly the forced out at second was made before an issue with the throw to first. Somebody's going to have to look at that.

Michael Pineda pulled a Clay Buchholz from last season. Not a coincidence that the Yanks were facing Buchholz and Pineda had the pine tar on his palm.

Snotballs, spitballs, vaseline balls, KY jelly balls, pine tar balls, sunscreen balls. Pretty much every type of foreign substance that a pitcher can get their hands on, they will use (more often than not, successfully).

Maybe if pitchers used more substances on the baseballs, they wouldn't have to destroy their elbows like we've seen this season...
Most teams won't challenge it because they know that their pitchers are doing it too.

KY jelly balls always a hit at parties
Watched MLB Tonight last night and Harold Reynolds said that most players who slide into 1st get injured because they slide into it the same way they slide into the other bases. They forget that you can slide past 1st and still be safe, just like you can run past first and be safe. It was an interesting discussion.

His contention is that you can either slide through the base or you can do like you do sliding into home and slide to the side and tap the bag. The only problem with that is if you get cleats to the hand.

Yeah, it seems like he's adamant about something that's 1) risky and 2) unproven as to its effectiveness.
