Wow, I'm shocked. You've got to believe in his words-does he even look like a guy who would take them? Hell no. He said he never intentionally used steriods and Fisher is right, we don't know if he was banned for anabolic steriods or vitamins.

I really hope this was not steroids. I have respected this guys game for a long time. But, I promise if he is a cheater, I will never care what he thinks anymore either. This may be a huge dissapointment no matter how it turns out. If it was not roids, he will still have the irresponsibility of not making sure what he took was legal. If he is just trying to make a lame excuse, he is not only irresponsible, but a loser that cannot face the consequences of his actions. man, i feel sorry for the kids that are looking for a true role model these days.
no, because its against the rules. but still, its not like he stuck a needle in his butt or anything.Originally Posted by Hmark6

Not surprised. I believed Canseco when he said Palmeiro used them during his time in Texas. Just check out the power numbers when both he and Canseco were playing together, the time Canseco said he was injecting Palmeiro. And you don't just throw out accusations like that without fear of retribution in one form or another. Palmeiro never sued him for libel or slander. People were too quick to shoot the messenger...
So that's two for sure Canseco was right on (McGwire too, who I think proved he took them just by his pathetic performance before Congress).
This is a very disappointing story in baseball. Many fans have lost the respect for baseball because 1994 strike, almost a strike in 2001, and now a player with HOF potential gets caught cheating, even more fans will respect this game less.
LOVE THEE NOTRE DAME!
From the article....
Palmeiro said the arbitrator "did not find that I used a banned substance intentionally -- in fact, he said he found my testimony to be compelling," but still ruled that he needed to serve the suspension.
How does the arbitrator know if it was intentional or not? Nice job of spin doctoring Raffy.....but I don't buy it.
Fans all over the boards kept saying they wanted to see "big name players" get busted.....well, here ya go people. It don't get much bigger than this. 3000 hits....500 HR's....nice feat but kinda takes the air outta those sails huh?

He's not off the hook, but I'm 100 percent sure he didn't use them. He was hitting for power as soon as he entered the league.Originally Posted by Saber

Bart: Thanks, Dad. But part of this D-minus belongs to God.
Geez, c'mon guys.... this isn't news.

I was just going to type something about Viagra. Who wants to be caught using that?
Don't knock it until ya try it sonny!
(just remember, trying it doesn't mean you "need" it!)
Palmeiro had no shot of winning a case for libel. Its he said, he said with no proof either way.
You're right and his words on the confrence call were: "It was a steroid, since I got the 10-day suspension." Raffy's words, not mine.Originally Posted by HuskerFan2002
Knowing this, and keeping in mind his grand jury testimony, why should we give this guy the benefit of the doubt?
On ESPN or Baseball Tonight they showed a things on there that said the longest a player with 500 HRs went with out a 30+ HR season and Palmeiro went untill his 8th season without a 30 hr season and that was his first season he was teammates with Canseco.
Then the next year he hit 23 homers. In 1991 he hit 26 homers. This is a sign of a guy who find out how to hit in the majors and got better every year, not one who took roids.
