Durbin anyone? ....
Durbin anyone? ....
Rays could really use him. Hell, the Phillies could too!
The Dodgers signed Lance Cormier to a minor league deal. Not a bad deal just like Mahay.
Funny what a season can do. Millwood in 2009 had a pretty sporty looking ERA, and some luck, and would have had no trouble getting a nice little deal... let alone signed by mid-February.

Ted: Wait, I can get this. Mothers I'd like to sleep with and never call again.

The 2074 MSL NL Gold Glove Recipient at Third Base.
Durbin is holding out for a multi-year contract for some reason or at least has been. I've been hearing Seattle a lot lately as having the most interest.
Seattle needs bats. Ones that can get bat with ball. That and let the ball find the seats or grass.

Jose Guillen should go to Seattle to room with Milton Bradley
Just how many pitchers do the Red Sox need? Theo Epstein is definitely a believer in the old adage "You can never have too much pitching". He would get more playing time if he signed with any of the other teams mentioned.According to Peter Gammons of MLB Network, the Red Sox have made Chad Durbin an offer and are interested in him as a starting pitcher.
Durbin is arguably the best free agent reliever left on the market. While a recent report connected him to the Mariners, Gammons writes that the Rays and Rangers are also in the mix. The 33-year-old right-hander has a 3.62 ERA over the last three seasons -- all with the Phillies -- and hasn't made a start since the 2007 season as a member of the Tigers. He would reportedly like to pitch for a contender.
