Ramirez
Major League Baseball is expected to announce Thursday that Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Manny Ramirez has tested positive for performance-enhancing drugs and will be suspended for 50 games, The Los Angeles Times is reporting.
Ramirez's suspension is expected to be announced Thursday, The Times said.
Triple-A outfielder Xavier Paul has been told by the Dodgers that he will be promoted later today, according to The Times.
WOW! How dumb could one guy be? This is huge news for the runaway Dodgers. The Dodgers still have a good offense without him but near as big as it is now. 50 games with Juan Pierre in LF will definitely hurt and ticket sales could take a hurting as well. I wonder when this suspension will take effect.
Holy ****...
I did a lot of good things as a sim league GM.
Ah, give me something clever to say here.

Sure, Manny."Ramirez is expected to attribute the test results to medication received from a doctor for a personal medical issue, according to a source familiar with matter but not authorized to speak publicly."
anyone that thinks Manny wasn't using when he was on the Red Sox is only kidding themselves. no more holier than you attitude from the Sox fans.
He'll appeal...it'll take a while.
If he's smart, just take the susp now. If you appeal and they still find him guilty, he'll be gone for the end of the year, when they would need his bat the most.

Don't let the fear of striking out keep you from playing the game.
Manny suspended for use of PEDs | MLB.com: News
Major League Baseball made an official announcement shortly after noon ET.
Ramirez, who turns 37 on May 30, will begin the suspension with Thursday night's Dodgers-Nationals game. He would be eligible to return around July 3, depending on rainouts.
This is the kind of news that could really let the NL West open up again. Sure the Dodgers are a great team without Manny, but to lose a player of his caliber for 50 games and its not because he is unable to play physically, will have to be a huge blow for the morale of the team, especially if they begin to struggle to win close games.
What huge news.

He is not appealing and the suspension will take place immediately. Just in time for the Giants series
Ramirez will lose roughly 7.7 million dollars of his salary (about 30%.) That is a pretty costly mistake there.
