Best Rotation In The NL

Who has the best rotation in the NL?? Is it the Cubs with Zambrano, Dempster, Harden and Lilly? The Marlins with Nolasco, Volstad and Johnson? What about the G-men with Lincecum, Cain, and the Big Unit? The Braves? DBacks? Tell what you think and why.

The Reds are not the best, but they have the potential to be and deserve a place on this poll. Cueto and Volquez have filthy stuff, been nearly unhittable this spring, and both have big futures. The rotation has a veteran presence with two extremely durable arms in Harang and Arroyo, Harang had been one of the best in the NL and if he returns to form this rotation could easily be a top three NL rotation. Then with the fifth spot the Reds actually have legitimate options and should get a quality performance from their fifth as both Owings and Bailey have a lot upside, Bailey moreso.

If Harang is back, I'd be comfortable with him, Volquez and Cueto versus any other big three in the NL.

Of course. But while the Reds might not have the same top-tier talent as a Brandon Webb or a Tim Lincecum, they do have the potential to have one of the most solid 1-5's in the NL and depth like that is getting them on many discussions for the top rotation.

I remember the days of Paul Wilson and Eric Milton being the rotation's one and two, so I have to enjoy what they have now as much as possible because good pitching (and life), is fleeting.

I always overlook one or two which is why I leave me an out. I see you put them on the list so we cool. Arroyo and Owings don't really scare anyone but Volquez, Cueto and Harang are a good starting three. Sorry I missed it.

No problem. Like I said, I am just psyched for once about this rotation, which is pretty cool. I'll take that any day over hearing rumors of trying to coax Pete Harnisch out of retirement again.

I had to go with Giants rotation based on these reasons:
- 1-5 the rotation is solid, you don't have a easy day.
- Zito is pitching real well, expect him to have a bounce back year.
- Randy Johnson's velocity has been solid all spring training, he could be a big X-factor this season, also him mentoring the young pitching staff can't hurt.
- I also like the Righty-Lefty balance in the rotation.
- Lastly having 3 CY winners in the rotation won't hurt either (:

I like the potential with Lincecum, Cain, and Sanchez.. plus a safety valve like Johnson. Anything reasonably decent out of Zito is an added bonus. I choose you, San Francisco.

I like the win it now, or else approach of the Cubs this year. These 4 may not be around together much longer so it is paramount that they get it done.

and even marshall isnt bad as a number 5. cubs 1-4 is VERY solid. and marshall to round it up makes it a rock solid 1-5
