I know its early only having three innings under their belt but I like having Steve Phillips in the booth with Jon Miller and Joe Morgan.

I'm not a big fan of Miller/Morgan (mainly because of Morgan) nor do I like Steve Phillips that much...so I doubt this is going to work well.
I did a lot of good things as a sim league GM.
Ah, give me something clever to say here.
Anyone else had a chance to listen? I am curious to hear other thoughts since I missed it.

Phillips was OK tonight to be honest, I'm just not a big fan of him in general. There is a chance he adds a little sanity to the broadcast, but who knows.

Phillips can be hit or miss. Sometimes he can say things that land him in Joe Morgan territory of stupidity but other times he can add some pretty good insight.

I can't stand Steve Phillips, but I can't stand Joe Morgan either so maybe the 2 -'s equal a +?

I thought they did a great job last night in their first game. Phillips can add things from a GM's point of view, Morgan from a player's and Miller is just a great play by play guy. Phillips taking air time away from Morgan is always a plus. Plus they kept things loose and made the game entertaining even though the USA was getting the shit knocked out of them.
I hate Phillips, both for his dumb GM'ing and some of the dumb things he's said on air, he just bothers me, but maybe if he and Morgan can keep each other in check, MAYBE they can be a decent broadcasting team.
Phillips accomplished more with the Mets than Omar Manaya has, oh and Manaya spent way more money they Phillips did.
Phillips was pathetic as a GM, there is no way to justify him... maybe Minaya has made mistakes but Phillips was down right pathetic

Poor Jon Miller.
Marshall: MILSWANCAs?
Ted: Wait, I can get this. Mothers I'd like to sleep with and never call again.

Phillips drafted David Wright. He wasn't all that bad but wasn't all that good, just like Minaya. First game was a success in my book and I hope they can keep it up.
Minaya has brought his team to 3 straight years of 88+ wins. Phillips struggled to get to a playoff appearance for 3 years, then had a few good years, but he was bad. He traded Jason Bay for Steve Reed and Jason Middlebrook. Don't know who they are? Exactly.
He was not THAT bad, but he was not even close to good. Minaya has a direction, and while he does make some bad moves, he's not even close to the failure that Phillips was. Phillips let his own manager(Bobby V, a fan favorite) take the blame for his own poorly constructed team. At least Randolph was fired because of his own inability to inspire the team...
Second night in a row and these guys have done well again. I like what ESPN has done.
If this broadcast team does this well for the regular season I will be happy, they have been fairly solid so far.
