Best Rotation In The AL

Who do think has the best rotation in the AL? Could it be the Yankees who spent big bucks for Sabathia and Burnett? Maybe its the Rays hopeing to repeat last year's performance with the addition of Price? The Angels headed by John Lackey? The Red Sox with Beckett, Dice K and Lester? The White Sox with Danks, Buerhle and Floyd? Tell me who you think has the best rotation in the AL.

I went with the Angels. The Angels have Lackey, Santana (should be fine after a couple of weeks of the season), Saunders, Weaver and Dustin Moseley. I think this will be Weaver's breakout year and Lackey is one of the best in the game. I also think they have more depth to that rotation and Kelvim Escobar is trying to make his comeback. I had to go with the Angels here.

I'd probably have to say Boston, just because their staff led them into the playoffs, again. Yes, this year is a different story with New York picking up those 2 guys, so it's really tough to say. It's a really a coin toss between the two. Most impressive rotation (as far as last year goes) I'd have to say Minnesota, with all the young arms they had, they performed pretty well.

I'd say the Red Sox have the best rotation in the AL, if not the bigs this season. The Twins rotation is very good, but inexperienced. In a couple of years, it will be a lot better.

I can't vote for the Angels, as Dustin Moseley is just not that good. Gotta go with the Rays. Sonnanstine is better than every other fifth starter.

Agreed. That Rays rotation doesn't give opponents ANY nights off

Maybe its me but I think I'd rather have HOF John Smoltz or stud prospect Clay Buchholz over Sonnanstine and his 4.4 ERA.

I'd agree about Smoltz....if he wasn't 42 years old and injury prone.

And "stud" prospect Buchholz's 6.75 ERA last year wasn't too pretty.

Yeah after last year's performance, there should be no "stud" in describing Buchholz.

He pitched like 30 innings, and his ERA this spring is about 1. He's still a top SP spec. Everytime the Sox ask about a player in trade talks, the first name brought up is Buchholz. If he's that coveted, it means he's still pretty good

Dewon Brazelton's ERA was about 1 in spring training for the Padres a few years ago.

Then he gave up 7 runs in the first inning in his first start in the regular season.
