Jimmy Rollins stand-up triple!
One of the weirdest strikeout of my life.
6 to 4! DeROSA TRIPLE!
Damnit!! Right when the USA crawls back, Japan adds more. 8-4 in the B-8th.
Well, I guess I was half right...the bullpen couldn't be trusted, but it turns out neither could Oswalt. Disappointing finish for the Americans barring any miraculous comeback, although they can't be too upset with a semifinal appearance with this depleted team.
I did a lot of good things as a sim league GM.
Ah, give me something clever to say here.
If people were shocked that it took so long for a team to sign Adam Dunn, look no further than this WBC.
This is a very pointless comment.
But Derek Jeter blows.
His best days are definitely behind him. Jeter will be 35 this June and his range is declining with every passing day. I can't wait for him to retire just so I can hear him say how badly he broke Wilt Chamberlain's record in the bedroom.
Well at least USA didn't get beat in the first round again.

It appears the US players did not take this event seriously again, as the best players did not participate.

He had a horrible game against Japan, no question. And Dunn is what he is, great one night and a guaranteed out other nights. I don't want to turn this into an Adam Dunn debate, it's been done to death before, but the guy did have some games that he made his country proud with his bat in this tourney so let's not sell him short on a team that had a lot bigger disappointments than him.
Any way you slice it though, it was a sad finish for the USA. I was really hoping for a miracle run after that great comeback, but it wasn't in the cards. It would have been nice to see if the full roster was still around what could have happened. You have to imagine that hurt the confidence level of the team entering into the game.

Not trying to make a debate because I don't see one. Its just not a shock that Dunn was on the market so long. People call him an underrated player and I don't see it, neither do GM's. Last night, Dunn playing in RF let a ball go by him just so the CFer could get it 15 ft behind him. The run scored because Dunn quit on the ball. Who the **** does that?? Then he struck out looking to end the game. That shouldn't happen!! The other night, he made a terrible play at first that cost him the game. He had a terrible WBC and there was a reason a lot of teams didn't want him. This WBC was a showcase of why GM's didn't.
