News Alex Rodriguez tested positive for steroids in 03, per SI

Alex Rodriguez tested positive for steroids in '03, sources tell SI - MLB - SI.com

In 2003, when he won the American League home run title and the AL Most Valuable Player award as a shortstop for the Texas Rangers, Alex Rodriguez tested positive for two anabolic steroids, four sources have independently told Sports Illustrated.
Wow, that's HUGE news. This could tarnish A-rod's reputation more than it already has been by Madonna, the divorce, and everything else...

Slap an * next to his name, just like the rest of them. This is getting ricockulous.

"You'll have to talk to the union," said Rodriguez, the Yankees' third baseman since his trade to New York in February 2004. When asked if there was an explanation for his positive test, he said, "I'm not saying anything."

I mean, I didn't buy it at first, but 4 separate sources, all independent of each other, and none of them are Jose Canseco....I imagine it has to be true.

It would be sweet if one of these anonymous sources is Joe Torre.

He named A-Rod like a year or 2 ago, and no one believed him.

It'd be sweet if the sources were Torre, Jeter, A-Rod's ex-wife, and Canseco.

The great thing about this is if it's true, he's won MVP's WITHOUT them now. So clearly they didn't help him at all

Plus, steroids help you recover and more easily build muscle. The results don't just go away. As long as he keeps working out(at the rate that his body is then used to thanks to the steroids), he keeps his strength without being on steroids. At least, that's my guess, I don't really know much about roids.

way too much of a simplification. he may keep SOME of the benefits of steroids, but he wouldnt be able to work out as much now without them, he just wouldnt. Also, its not like those things help you for 5 years after stopping use. the amount of benefits he would have now? virtually nonexistent.

again, i really couldnt care less if he were juicing. I watch baseball to be entertained, and to see the cubs win. I'd prefer if they do it clean, but its not MY body being damaged, and if they want small balls, thats their prerogative.

Alright, like I said, I don't know much about the effects of roids. Either way, I kinda don't like the idea of dirty players, because it changes the balance of the game, some players have advantages, which is unfair.
