More because he was abrasive and the writers knew he would get in.

First 100%? Shit, IDK...maybe when Pujols retires?

    Maddux perhaps?

I think Edgar will get in, it wasn't his fault the M's were on Jim Pressley jock for 4 years and kept him in AAA. Paul Molitor was a DH for more than half his career and he got in and hes got comparable numbers to him.

I don't think there ever will be one. Tim Kurkjian pointed out that Willie Mays never even had 100%, even if it was back then, it's just that no one is ever going to get it because the best players ever didn't achieve it.

Although Maddux should be 95 or more without blinking, I expect his to be high like Ripken or Gwynn.

You're right KOZ and shows the flaws in the writer's voting. Not voting for someone just because Babe Ruth didn't get 100% is outright retarded. If the guy is a no doubt HOFer, then vote like it.

Yeah, I dislike the logic completely. A guy like Maddux has 300 plus wins and enough gold gloves and cy youngs to build a house. And yet writers will not vote for him just based on a pre-historic principle.

I'm also not fully crazy about writers taking the personality and attitudes of players into consideration. A writer did not vote for Rickey because Rickey was a loaf, essentially. I don't think a player has to suck up and treat the media like a God in order to get Hall votes. Manny is going to be heavily scrutinized, I can just see it now.

Not many people have a .300 BA, .400 OBP, and a .500 SLG for their careers either.

It's nuts. I mean, guys like Mays should certainly be unanimous. I believe the highest percentage is still Tom Seaver, and the guys who are near the top of the percentage list at least got in, but certainly there are plenty who should have been unanimous.

Some idiots refuse to vote for anyone their first year on the ballot just because it's their first year on the ballot.

I just find it funny that the HoF is essentially decided by a majority of schmucks who have never even played pro baseball. They shouldn't even bother with the whole percent; just say who got in and who didn't. And why do we need up to 15 years to decide?

David Eckstein gets in easily. His Grit+, Gamer+, and Moxie+ stats are through the roof.
