Randy Johnson came back to pitch late innings in 2001 on two days rest. Hamels would no doubt suck it up and do something like that if the WS were on the line. It happens all the time.

I know it's happened, but RJ and Clemens and the people who do that are typically veterans. Charlie Manuel would almost undoubtedly not have forced his 24 year old ace to risk arm injury by going on 2 days rest...

Pitching an inning or two is not going to risk anything. Hamels would be more pissed if he didn't get a chance to win a title!

I'm sure that's true. And to some point I agree with you. But you know it would be in Manuel's head, that's how managers make decision now. Either way, now that the game wont be played till Wednesday, there's no argument, Hamels would be available for Game 7 on 3 days rest.

Sorry Shorty. I understand Mets fans never cheer for the Phillies, but in this case, the team just won it. They played outstanding baseball in October.

And the Rays bullpen was awful. But I mean, I can't say the Phillies didn't win the games they had to win. Just disappointed....
