Well, I hate him, and I think he's in no question.

I did a lot of good things as a sim league GM.
Ah, give me something clever to say here.
no question? so you're saying he should be first ballot HoF?
I definitely don't think he's first ballot. (I know you was asking browntown, but I'm just stating my personal opinion on that regard.)

If I think somebody's a Hall of Famer, I think they're a Hall of Famer...my opinion's not going to change after x amount of ballots. Will he get in on the first ballot? I don't know. Would I vote him in? Yes.

to me if someone says "no question" then they're implying it's a slam dunk / first ballot.
Would I vote for him? No. Will he get in? Probably. First ballot? No way in hell. There is some question.
This "First Ballot" crap cracks me up. He's either a HOF'er or he isn't. This should be the case with all of them. The guys that the Veteran's committee voted in and the guys that didn't make it in or the "First Ballot" are a big portion of the reason the Hall is diluted. There shouldn't be a second ballot, you either make it in or you don't. If you don't make it in your first year of eligiblity then you probably shouldn't have made it!!!!!!! Does the guys career stats change from one year to the next????? What has changed about the player that he's now eligible after he was denied.
What cracks me up about that concept are the morons who think someone's a hall of famer, but don't vote for them on the first ballot because they have some asinine mindset that nobody should get in on the first ballot.

That's stupid as well. There was one guy who commented that he wouldn't vote for anyone from this decade or the 90s because it was "the steroid era."
I did a lot of good things as a sim league GM.

Yea, I agree with this. Same story for other years too. 1996: Sure, he only started 26 games, but he was just 9-10, even with a 3.19 ERA. I think he should have been even better than 17-11 in 1997, when he had a 2.97 ERA and 319 K's in 35 starts. He was a 20-game winner just 3 times, but I think he piched well enough to be a 20-gamer 5 or maybe 6 times.
He's never won a Cy Young award, but look at the guys who beat him out when he came in second. Randy Johnson and Johan Santana. Without those 2 pitchers, Curt would have 3 Cy Youngs.
He has been ecxellent in the playoffs/world series. In 19 postseason starts, he has a 2.23 ERA and an 11-2 record, along with 120 strikeouts in 133 innings. Look, he went to the playoffs with the Phillies, Diamondbacks, and the Red Sox, and his kick-butt pitching lead to 3 world series rings.
I think he is a hall-of-famer because of his ERA and strikeout numbers, as well as his postseason success.

Of course I do
I suppose beating the Dodgers while with the Phillies and then signing with the Padres afterwards should qualify his number to be retired by the Padres in their insignificant history.
