George Carlin on Football vs Baseball

Perhaps this is better suited in The Clubhouse, but given his passing yesterday I thought it would be appropriate to share with you all a classic routine of his on the differences between the two sports of football and baseball.

George Carlin pains me a lot. He was a big part of my childhood and how I looked at the world. He was way before his time and just saw everything in a different light and loved every second of it. One of my goals before I die was to see Carlin live and honored to say I accomplished that goal. George was a great man and comedian! And to quote one of Carlin;s jokes, he died from swallowing small amounts of saliva.

I heard today that Carlin was the first host of SNL in 1975 and where he first performed the baseball/football skit.

LtR, I know what you mean. I had the same goal, and I was able to see him live as well. I even got to shake the legend's hand. It was a night that I will never forget. He was such a brilliant man, from his various takes on sports, to his skits on atheism(praying to the sun or joe pesci), and everything in between...
