What are you guys talking about? Moina hit a career high 19 HRs in his only year in Toronto plu he hit .284. He hit .295 the year before that. Molina has been good.

OK, so he wasn't SO bad in Toronto. Point taken.

    Re: LTR's All Surprise Team

I am not saying he was bad, he just didn't seem to be what the team wanted. And in no way am I saying what the team wanted was a good thing. (Cough)Fire JP(/Cough)

He had good numbers, but what does that mean when the team doesn't perform, they go to waste. The season was a "larf" because of this, and is highlighted by the way he contributed to the Angels winning ways in 2002, and other seasons. I think everyone expected a lot from him, and it just wasn't there in the team. Good numbers, and they go to waste. He drops out of your minds a bit, and presto we have him here in a disscussion of the "All Surprise Team".

I know it was a while ago, but its funny to think that BMo is a two time Gold Glover, for what its worth. And we question this part of his game now? My how have times changed/

What's he have to do? Be 10-0 with a .39 ERA?

    Oh, well, that's fairly reasonable.

Come on. Ryan Church came back today from a concussion and hit his 10th HR of the year. He's a guy who's never hit more than 15 HR before. He's never hit over .287, and is now at .311. He's never had more than 70 RBI, but he's already at about 35. He's gotta at least be an honorable mention...

He did well last year, right right? At least he was never demoted and left off the playoff roster.

I have always liked Church and always thought he was mishandled in Washington. If he was used properly, his production would have been close to what it is now.

I guess that's a fair point. Although at RFK, he woulda had trouble matching his HR numbers. You're right in that he always showed potential, 40 or so doubles one year.

The Nationals don't play at RFK anymore though!

I will go ahead and put Keiichi Yabu on this team. This 39 yr old now owns a 2.06 ERA. Not bad for a minor league invitee who has really sucked balls in the MLB up until now. Definitely didn;t think he would even make the team and did not see him doing this well.
