According to various news outlets, Bret Boone announced his retirement and Sammy Sosa will retire after the World Baseball Classic in 2009.

First thought: Wasn't he already retired? (I know that Leather Pants brought him and Aaron in due to his unnatural love for broken-down, has-been or really never was Reds players.)

Second thought: Is he more known for the time that a PA announcer referred to him as Bert Boone?

Third thought: Is Sammy more known for The Chase with McGwire, or having a bat that exploded all over the infield exposing his corking ways?
