I'm not backing off of anything.

The Rockies were a better team in 2007, but we're discussing 2008 here.

    Rockies Re: 2008 Season Predictions!

I see some have the Rockies making the Wild Card, but nobody gives us a chance to win the division. Interesting, but I'm ok with it.

The comment that got me was this:

Maybe they did, and as realmofo said above we only lost Fogg, Kaz and Hawkins.
So if they did overachieve, and are young (well, not Helton) and talented then why can't they do even better? Maybe they did overachieve last year, if that is the case then maybe that is why I can't wait for this season.

    Re: 2008 Season Predictions!

The Rockies will most definitely make a run for the NL West title

but so will the Padres, Dodgers, and Diamond Backs.

The NL West is pretty strong and whomever finishes 4th place would probably win any other division in baseball

    AL East:

    Oakland

    NL East:
Philladelphia -- just better at every offensive position than the Mets (except 3B) and enough pitching to get past them

    Atlanta
    Washington
    Florida

    NL Central:
    ChC
    Milwaukee
    Cincinnati

The Mariners benefit from playing in a weaker division giving them a better shot at the playoffs than the Yankees. Don't forget they got Mel Stottlemyre as their pitching coach which will help.

Umm, I can understand that question, but the answer is Endy Chavez plays LF, Ryan Church(40 doubles last year) plays RF, and 1B if delgado gets seriously hurt would be Marlon Anderson/Damian Easley/Jose Valentin. You're right, it's not pretty, but the Phillies have many more question marks in their pitching rotation....and the Braves will likely have both Hampton and Chipper on the DL at some point.

And I'm pretty sure that Beltran is better than Victorino. I would also personally take Church over Jenkins.

I changed my AL CY pick from Lackey to Verlander due to Lackey missing all of April and half of May.

Turn2, I like your predictions. The are loaded with Brewers. Yost may get fired before the end of the season if the Brewers struggle.
