I don't give a shit about the Jays on paper, but I've been hearing about them rising up to challenge the Yankees and Red Sox in the AL East for the last 7 years. Well when is this going to happen??

I guess when they get healthy? Rolen, Halladay, Burnett, and Ryan...all vital injury prone players.

I have missed the baseball discussion(s) and look forward to another season of posting here at S3F.

Let's break it down.

Halladay (healthy) > Wang, but I mean, 19 wins to 19 wins is essentially a wash. Same on ERA. Still, Halladay
Pettite> Burnett, Burnett has never won more than 12 games, and hell, he hasn't started more than 25 on the Jays
Hughes = McGowan, They have essentially the same makeup as of now, but I'm about 100% poisitve Hughes WILL be better.
Mussina = Marcum, Sorry Man, Marcum is going to be really good, but Moose had a terrible year last year. If you take the rookie over the veteran in this instance, it is a stretch. No way Moose is as bad this year...plus Marcum is hurt anyway.
Litsch = Kennedy they're both unproven blue chip specs...Litsch was not impressing me last year, but Kennedy is too much of an unknown.


I give it to the Yankees because the margin of Pettite to Burnett is much larger than Hallady to Wang in terms of numbers.

Factor in bullpen and hitting, and the insinuation on paper that the Jays are better is RIDICULOUS.



Still, we're better. I mean, I'm not picking a fight, but compare lineups...and bullpens.

I have to question Pettite's health right now and he's getting up in years

Hughes and McGowan are both studs so not much to say about it.

Mussina needs to prove he can stay at a high level and be healthy this season, I'll take the younger Marcum who shown a lot last year.

5th starters, just as long as they keep you into the game and Litsch will do that, I haven't seen enough of Kennedy but he looked ready to go and step up for NY, I'll even give Kennedy the edge.

The lineup, I'll give the Yankees the edge, but the Jays' lineup will be right up there, provided that Wells shows up this season (which he should, he has a pattern but good and bad years).

Bullpen is just a mess for both teams as far as I'm concerned and a big wash right now.

I would have last season, he lies to the fans, can't do anything right, keeps Jason Frasor around, and if Towers didn't get an offer from another team, he would have kept him around too.

Right. Let's see if there All Star CIFs can ever produce. Lets see if Bedard can win. Let's see if King Felix can remain consistent.


The NL West is a bunch of inconsistent teams with really good pitching. Look at the DRays and DBacks...sparing the fact that Haren and Webb are sick, don't the teams look eerily similar?

Let's see if the Yankees rotation stays in tact and if the bullpen blows **** like it did last year. Again, the M's play in the weaker division.

NL West is the best division in all of baseball.

Howard was up in May sent down for June and then back up in July. What's the difference?

I changed my AL CY pick from Lackey to Verlander due to Lackey missing all of April and half of May.

With the way Lackey is pitching, I might have to change it back! He is unreal.

OK, Yankees 4th is ludicrous. They have a Top 5 lineup in baseball, and if you're banking on the Rotation of : Wang, Pettite, Mussina, Kennedy and Hughes doing worse than the Jays and Rays, you're crazy.
