Wow, the Angels are really cleaning up your awards there.
I did a lot of good things as a sim league GM.

Ah, give me something clever to say here.

I didn't even realize that when I was typing. Lackey probably won't win the CY but I wouldn't put it past them.

    Re: 2008 Season Predictions!

    AL East
    1. Red Sox - Look like they'll make it back to the World Series.
    2. Yankees - I don't expect much from them
    3. Blue Jays - Will contend for second with the Yankees
    4. Devil Rays - If only they could keep their talent
    5. Orioles - They still have Roberts... for now.

    AL Central
    1. Tigers - Pitching is top heavy, but boy will they score runs.
    2. Indians (Wild Card) - Captain Cheeseburger will dominate this year.
    3. Twins - Could surprise if Liriano is healthy.
    4. White Sox - Kenny only needs another year to get to last place.
    5. Royals - Why does this team still exist?

    AL West
    1. Angels - Getting Garland for an old shortstop, was a great move for this club.
    2. Mariners - King Felix and Bedard has this team going in the right direction.
    3. Athletics - Money Ball is taking the year off.
    4. Rangers - BRING BACK SAMMY!.

    ALDS
    Angels over Tigers in 4
Red Sox over Indians in 5
    ALCS
Red Sox over Angels in 6

    NL East
    1. Mets - If Santana is healthy, they probably won't collapse again.
    2. Phillies - Will be better then people think.
    3. Braves - Glavine won't help the rotation.
    4. Marlins - Hanley Ramirez needs to come to the Cubs. Perfect fit.
    5. Nationals - I liked them better when they were the Expos.

    NL Central
    1. Cubs - Easily the best lineup, and pitching in the division. Not to mention until the Johan trade, they were favored in Vegas to make the World Series to represent the NL. Plus they were the only Central team to really do anything this offseason.
    2. Brewers - Didn't do enough this offseason to take over 1st, but they still have loads of talent. Though Rickie Weeks will again fail to live up to expectations.
    3. Reds - Cordero gains this team a couple more wins, but when Bailey goes to the DL everyone will wonder why Baker was hired.
    4. Cardinals - Things have just gotten bad in St. Louis.
    5. Pirates - At least you guys have the Steelers.
    6. Astros - I'm still amazed they traded Hirsh for Jennings... STILL! Maybe The Rocket will come pitch for them mid season

    NL West
    1. Padres - Pitching = wins, and the Padres have plenty of it. If Prior is healthy they could be very scary in the playoffs.
    2. Rockies (Wild Card) - This was probably the toughest division to pick the finished order. 1-4 could finish in any which order. With all this offense, and just so-so pitching. They should do away with the humidor.
    3. Diamondbacks - Very talented team, and in a tight division they just might steal it. But I think they'll have a let down year.
    4. Dodgers - I think Torre will get this team headed in the right direction. Too bad for them, that's only good for 4th.
    5. Giants - They'll probably resign Bonds in July to help fill tickets in the second half when it's obvious they are destined for last place.

    NLDS
    Cubs over Padres in 4
    Mets over Rockies in 3
    NLCS
    Cubs over Mets in 7

    WORLD SERIES
Cubs defeat Red Sox in 6
    MVP: Aramis Ramirez

I really think it will be Red Sox over Mets/Cubs, but what the hell. Cubs end the drought at 100.

    AL MVP: Alex Rodriguez
    NL MVP: Hanley Ramirez
    AL Cy Young: C.C. Sabathia
    NL Cy Young: Carlos Zambrano
AL Rookie of the Year: Evan Longoria
NL Rookie of the Year: Kosuke Fukudome
AL "Rolaids Relief Man": Jon Papelbon
NL "Rolaids Relief Man": Carlos Marmol
    AL Manager: Jim Leyland (Tigers)
    NL Manager: Lou Piniella (Cubs)
First Manager Fired: Dusty Baker (Reds)
First GM Fired: Kenny Willams (White Sox)

    2. Cardinals - Here's my surprise pick. I think their rotation is underrated. We shall see what happens.
    3. Brewers - Braun + Fielder + Yovanni = Good, but not good enough. This is a good division I think.
    4. Cubs - Is it just me, or is Aramis Ramirez vastly OVERRATED?
    5. Astros - Tejada and Valverde picked the wrong team. However they do keep the 'Stros out of last place.
    6. Pirates - Jason Bay and Freddy Sanchez need to move to a good team. Ian Snell should be renamed to Ian Smells. I dislike him.
Is this some kind of joke? Red and Cards top 2? Brewers and Cubs 3, 4? The Cardinals have Pujols in that lineup, and a injury prone 3B in Glaus. What else do they have? The pitching is very very very suspect. And unless Dusty Baker has a roided up slugger (Bonds, Sosa) he doesn't seem to fair well.

I predict that none of the GM's will be fired during the season. So, my pick for first GM to be shitcanned after the season is Ned Colletti. If the Dodgers don't make the playoffs again, the owner certainly isn't going to fire Joe Torre.

This coming from a guy who picked the Padres to finish first. Where's there offense?

    Re: 2008 Season Predictions!

    AL East
    1. Red Sox-Look for Manny to rebound, and Beckett to put up a great year
    2. Yankees (Wild Card)-Look for another great year from A-rod, but the rotation worries me
    3. Blue Jays - Will barely finish above the TB Rays
    4. DEVIL Rays - Will surprise...70 wins maybe?
    5. Orioles - Terrible team. Once Roberts is gone, say hello to the cellar

    AL Central
    1. Tigers - Their offense is deadly, and the addition of Dontrelle will eat innings and be semi-effective in the huge expanses of Comerica
    2. Indians - Sabathia and Carmona are one of the best 1-2's in baseball...how will the 3-4-5 perform?
    5. White Sox - A Mediocre team...
    4. Twins - Look out for Carlos Gomez. With a good year, he could move them up to 3rd in the division
    5. Royals - I just don't understand....Brett Tomko?

    AL West
    1. Angels - Their time is running out
    2. Mariners - Bedard will help, need offensive help, must get rid of Richie Sexson
    3. Athletics - could compete...with lots of help, and zero injuries
    4. Rangers - "Look at their starting rotation and try not to puke." -Brownie

    ALDS
    Tigers over Yankees in 4
Red Sox over Angels in 5
    ALCS
Tigers over Red Sox in 7

    NL East
    1. Mets - Probably the only rotation that can boast 3 likely 15 game winners...Maine and Perez will only improve on 15 wins apiece
    2. Phillies- Ryan Howard and Chase Utley have had trouble sleeping since Johan came to this division
    3. Braves- Cannot let Chipper and Hampton succumb to the injury bug that we know will crush them
    4. Nationals - Elijah Dukes and Lastings Milledge will beat you....no, literally, BEAT you (with a bat)
    5. Marlins - Hmm. Who's on this team? Han-Ram...Dan Uggly...Mike Jacobs...Jeremy Hermida...*ring ring* Why yes Mr. Loria, I am free this baseball season!

    NL Central
    1. Cubs- The best team in one of the ugliest divisions in baseball
    2. Reds - Was tempted to give them the division, but still think that Homer Bailey has more to prove. Will be pretty good, but not quite playoff material
    3. Brewers - Hopefully Prince Fielder wont take his frustration out by intentionally sucking
    4. Cardinals - Mark Mulder. End of story.
    5. Pirates - Pretty bad.
    6. Astros - Terrible.

    NL West
    1. Dodgers - This will be one hell of a team, if they hit their potential
    2. Diamondbacks (WC) - Webb and Haren, best 1-2 in the national league, 2nd best rotation in the NL
    3. Padres - Good, but will feel the pain of not trading for Tony Gwynn Jr AGAIN
    4. Rockies - They overachieved, and everyone else got good
    5. Giants - Umm....they just suck. I don't know what to say

    NLDS
    Mets over Diamondbacks in 4
    Cubs over Dodgers in 5
    NLCS
    Mets over Cubs in 6

WORLD SERIES OF THE UNITED STATES AND ONE CANADIAN TEAM
Mets over Tigers in 5 (the anger from last year will bring us to fruition)
    MVP: Jose Reyes

    AL MVP: Curtis Granderson
    NL MVP: David Wright
    AL Cy Young: Erik Bedard****
    NL Cy Young: Johan Santana
AL Rookie of the Year: Evan Longoria
NL Rookie of the Year: Jay Bruce
AL "Rolaids Relief Man": Mariano Rivera
NL "Rolaids Relief Man": Takashi Saito
    AL Breakthrough Hitter: Delmon Young
    NL Breakthrough Hitter: Matt Kemp
    AL Breakthrough Pitcher: Phil Hughes
    NL Breakthrough Pitcher: Mike Pelfrey
AL Comeback Player: lets go on a ledge: Eric Chavez
NL Comeback Player: another ledge choice: Nick Johnson
    AL Manager: Jim Leyland
    NL Manager: Joe Torre
First Manager Fired: Bruce Bochy (Giants)
