Red Sox Nation has to hope Wells can use that game to turn his season around. Sox has been fortunate to survive thanks to Arroyo and Clement.

Seems like something Bob Boone would have done.

Most managers tend to change pitchers out just so the pitcher can feel good about himself. I think that's the case of Wells here. I don't think Francona wants him to lose the game after pitching so well.

Keith Foulke. Eh, he needs to get back on track. Not the worst time to try it. Great hitters with a good lead.

    A-Rod flies out.

A-Rod leaves his purse on the bench for this key AB.

Hopefully he won't need to slap at the ball to get on here.

He flies out though. 2 outs.

I think Wells had a bit left in the tank. From knowing what I know about him I think he would rather go for the CG and give up a run than leave when he did. That's just how he is.

    Red Sox win.

Posada flies out, and it's over!

    7-2 Sox ending.

Wells is PotG, although Ortiz can easily share the award in my book! 2 of 3 from Yankee Stadium including a rout is something I'll take any series.

Sox take two out of three from NY.

All is well at Red Sox Nation. Red Sox fans can get off the ledge now.

Even if the Sox lost the series, there is nothing to be concerned. That team was going to be fine one way or another. I still think they are the team to beat in the AL East.
