I don't see how Jack Wilson is the answer to any reasonable question.
This isn't the '60s. Shortstops should actually hit now.

I think it's hard to consider any team that didn't make a move a winner, or loser.
Naming winners and losers of the Trade deadline are like grading Drafts the day after the draft is over.
Not really. We already know what Mark Teixeira and Eric Gagne can do at the big league level. They weren't unsigned, unproven 18-22 year olds the day before.
I just love the way you can word posts Saber.
I have to disagree. Teams needing to compensate for other moves or address weaknesses they have, if they are serious about the playoffs are losers for failing to address that. Just like teams with a commodity others wanted, no shot, and those players not being key to a possible plan a few seasons around, you have to trade at peaks and some teams failed to do that.

Missing the point. Prospects were involved you have no idea what they'll do. You aren't 100% sure what the hell will happen to Teixeira in the Senior League. How will Gagne react to pitching in Boston? Of course, the answers are a lil' more predictable than how shitty Jarvis Moss will do; HOWEVER, to grade Trade Deadlines now is still too early. Oh and for some reason I have a feeling that Teixeira is going to have a horrible rest-of-the-year in Atlanta.
true, but if you review most trades that have happened throughout baseball history (and in other sports' history), the team that gets the star player usually wins the deal. I'd take my chances with Teixeira rather than Saltalamacchia and Elvis Andrus and Gagne rather than Kevin Gabbard.
My prediction is that Gagne will do just fine in Boston. He had pitched in big spots for Los Angeles and he was fearless.How will Gagne react to pitching in Boston?
Hence, I'm more sure about how Teixeira and Gagne will do. Not 100% sure but a lot higher than whatever the predictions are for Jarvis Moss.Of course, the answers are a lil' more predictable than how shitty Jarvis Moss will do;
If you want grade them yourself a month from now, you're more than welcome to.HOWEVER, to grade Trade Deadlines now is still too early.
I disagree but I admit it's a reasonable prediction, unlike those predictions of Jay Cutler's bust in Canton by Denver fans.Oh and for some reason I have a feeling that Teixeira is going to have a horrible rest-of-the-year in Atlanta.
I can see the big line of teams waiting to trade for Sexson's salary.
Hold on, let me get my glasses.

Circular logic aside, Mr Mims, you have yet to provide a single credible reason why you are, in fact, hot.
The problem is, the person you trade for can hit .480 and hit 20 home runs for the last two months of the regular season...if it doesn't help the team get a World Series victory and the guy walks at the end of the year (since the vast majority of stars moving are those that are FAs at season's end) and the prospects they gave up turn out to be stars.....did they really win out in that deal?

A lot of if's per trade. But that's how it is for most baseball trades, as there's not many ML player for ML player deals. Milwaukee and Atlanta could kick themselves in a few years for their deals, or maybe they won't. Perhaps the deal busts for all teams involved (which are the coolest deals).

Well Teixeira has already made an impact in his debut for Atlanta, getting 4 RBIs with a 3-run homer.
