Please all you guys crying over your man not getting the award. Morneau was more productive than Mauer! He is better than that cry baby Jeter. Finally the Yankees get screwed!
WTG Morneau You deserved the award.

Actually, he wasn't better than Mauer.
All 3 of the Twins candidates were deserving of the award. Mauer got the batting title. Santana got the Cy Young unanimously. Morneau had the stats during the Twins surge in the standings to win the award.
On a personal note, Justin is a very nice kid. He is humble and willing to talk to fans. One game I saw him play in when he was in the Midwest League, he hit a 1-hop liner that hit me in the chest. After the game, he sought me out to see if I was OK, which I was. He asked if there was anything I needed and I told him "Just your autograph on the ball", which he happily complied with.
Congratulations, Justin.

Personally, I'd rather have a catcher with Mauer's numbers who produces almost the whole year rather than a 1B with Morneau's numbers who starts hitting well in June.
And Jeter played a far more valuable position than Morneau did

Then out of fairness to the others you will be Slagathor.
Homeruns and RBIs aren't the only statistics that exist, and neither of them are very good statistics, but that's a debate we've had enough on this board that we should stop.
So instead let's debate on why AJ Pierzynski was placed on an MVP ballot.
And when was the last time a Yankee got an undeserving award anyway? Clemens' Cy Young maybe? It's not like the writers vote for only Yankees.

LOL Troy Glaus
Quick question, what individual accomplishment did Morneau have that made him a better choice than David Ortiz other than playing 1B while Ortiz played DH, since we know that position doesn't matter.

Or replace David Ortiz with Travis Hafner.
Well Morneau did lead the team out of the major hitting slump we were in. He drove in a ton of runs. Played error less ball. Hit for average and of course the homers. What was he like 75 point or more better than the previous season.

Because A.J. Pierzynski is a controversy magnet.Originally Posted by McKain

For some reason I thought this needed repeating since you guys are still confused on valuable. Mauer hit 20 points higher and that was it. Morneau was the one providing offense for guys like Santana and Silva. What did he do more than Ortiz? Play more games and get his team in the playoffs? After June 8, Morneau had the best batting average in the Majors (.362). In that stretch, Morneau also had the most hits in baseball (145) and the most RBIs in the AL (92). And it doesn't take much to link the Twins' turnaround to Morneau's emergence, as the club was 25-33 through June 7 before going 71-33 the rest of the season, the best record in the Majors during that span.
