I'll take Ruth in this group. He changed the game completely.
Koufax, on the other hand, was part of the reason they lowered the mound. I just wish he'd have learned to pitch earlier in his career, rather than after he hurt his elbow.
Jackson was an amazing player, but didn't change the game. He excelled at it in any case.

I have to go with Ruth as well. When a guy out homers ENTIRE TEAMS by about 3 times the toal.

If Koufax had a longer career, I would vote for him. He probably had the best 4-5 season run of any pitcher in history.

Id still stick with Ruth in the playoffs. Although Koufax in the playoffs was money.

Now you get the greatest player of the century vs arguably the most dominant pitcher in a 10yr span facing off.

Koufax was money in the playoffs .95 ERA.
Babe went 5-0 for Boston with an ERA of .89 in the playoffs!!!

WOW. Oh ya Babe hit some HRs during that time. Either way you cant lose.

The Babe has to win out for me by a bit. Like Slyder mentioned, to be dominant as both a pitcher and a hitter in the playoffs is simply amazing. And I am a huge fan of Koufax, but for a guy to have a .744 SLG% 129 AB's and a 0.87 ERA in 31 IP is just so damn pretty to see.

Yeah, it was fast pitch softball, and she struck out the side. It was an exhibition against an all star team. I forget who else struck out but it was two other HOFs I think.
