    City/stadium nicknames

    Hey all,

I'm compiling a list of city and MLB stadium nicknames (the ones that the locals would use to call the stadium or city) and was wondering if any of you can post those that you know here or point to an online resource. Here's a list to get you started:

    Arizona - Chase Field
    Atlanta - Turner Field
    Baltimore - Camden Yards
    Boston - Fenway Park
Chicago (Windy City) - Wrigley Field
Chicago (Windy City) - US Cellular Field
    Cincinatti - Great American Ballpark
    Cleveland - Jacobs Field
    Colorado - Coors Field
    Detroit - Comerica Park
    Florida - Dolphins Stadium
    Houston - Minute Maid Park
    Kansas City - Kaufmann Stadium
    Los Angeles - Angel Stadium
    Los Angeles - Dodger Stadium
    Milwaukee - Miller Park
    Minnesota - Metrodome
New York (Big Apple) - Shae Stadium
New York (Big Apple) - Yankee Stadium
    Oakland - McAfee Coliseum
    Philadelphia - Citizens Bank Park
    Pittsburgh - PNC park
    San Diego - PETCO park
    Seattle - SAFECO Field
    San Francisco - ATT Park
St. Louis - New Busch Stadium
    Tampa Bay - Tropicana Stadium
    Texas - Ameriquest Field

Real White Sox fans call the stadium one of 2 things: Comiskey Park or Sox Park. Either one is better than the corporate branding given to the stadium.

The Bronx is part of NYC and NYC is The Big Appke.

Yankee Stadium around here is just known as The Stadium but it's also known as the House that Ruth built and the new Stadium being built will be the House that george Built

I've never heard PetCo refered to as anything but "PetCo" or, more commonly, "The Park"

Minnesota has the "Hump" (Hubert Humphrey Metrodome). Could also be called the Humpty Dumpty Dome.
