I dont think he did, because he washed his hands after the 1st inning and still dominated, so I find it silly for people to make a big deal about it.
Whether it helped him or not we don't know but it's obvious he put the stuff on his hand in attempts to cheat.
I can't say whether or not I think he intentionally cheated or not. However, pitching some myself, I know I would realize if I had my hand covered with something (if it was dirt or whatever). So either he's not the brightest color in the box or he did seek to do it. If he did though, I don't understand why he would as like you mentioned, he pitched just as great without it, like he has been doing this entire postseason run.Originally Posted by GiantsFan83

It looks like he rubbed dog crap on his hand.

I would have to say no, but only god and Rogers knows the truth.
"For someone who was never meant for this world, I must confess I'm suddenly having a hard time leaving it. Of course, they say every atom in our bodies was once part of a star. Maybe I'm not leaving... maybe I'm going home."
I think its obvious he was attempting to cheat. With his excuse of dirt on his hand, I don't think its very likely that that clump of dirt happens to appear everytime he pitches in the playoffs. But to be honest I don't think it gives him a huge physical advantade, more so a mental one.
I didn't think he was cheating until I saw the photos from ALCS game 3 showing him having the same thing on his hand.
except i dont think pine tar on your hand is cheating.Originally Posted by McKain

I couldn't really tell that from those pictures, but if that appears more than once, then there is no question about it.

Cheating in baseball should always be a big deal, but unfortunately, nobody in the sport actually seems to care.
I am 99% sure pine tar is a foreign substance for pitchers.
It is illegal.
According to MLB Rules:
The pitcher shall not --
....
(4) apply a foreign substance of any kind to the ball

Yeah, and that was obviously Pine Tar. Anyone whos played baseball should know this.Originally Posted by McKain
