I agree that Mussina deserves consideration.... He definetly has anchor that staff.... As for the actual award. Santana.... Reputation and popularity always seem evident in these awards. Media dont always consider all angles... For example, West Coast teams seem to get omitted at times because everyone else in the country is already sleeping.....hahahahahaha.

Schilling does not deserve to be mentioned in CY talk. He flat out hasn't performed to that level whatsoever. I'll take Verlander.

Halladay would probably be 2nd (if I were voting). It's not a homer vote either (even though it may look like it). Once again, Santana owns every single major stat other than Wins (in which he's tied with others for 2nd) and is only off by 1 win there.

Halladay and Santana are indeed fine choices. Verlander deserves consideration if he keeps it up for the long haul. But one guy who always slips under the radar is Chien-ming Wang. Probably not anymore with a shutout against the Tigers, the accepted best team in baseball right now. He went 7.2 innings of 3 hit ball and helped the yankees cruise to an easy 2-0 victory. The yankees could barely get the offense going, but the Tigers didn't stand a chance.

Wang has some incredible stuff, proven by his 16-5 record and 3.66 ERA. As of now he is not at the top of the Cy list, mostly because he is a groundball pitcher and not a strikeout pitcher like Santana is, but the last month of the season will definitely determine who wins this award, because there are 5 guys with very similar stats.
