Jim Bowden: What if I were The Commish?

WASHINGTON - If Nats GM Jim Bowden was MLB’s commissioner for a day, here are the five changes he’d make:

I am disturbed. Jim Bowden came up with five not-bad ideas. Wow.

I was half expecting one of the changes to be a mandatory rule stating every team has to have a Cristian Guzman, contract included. I really like ideas 4 and 5. Also an extension of 4, try and get more publicity for the draft. I know it will never be as big as the NFL or MLB draft, but for a couple of rounds- they could entertain the thought of making it mainstream.

The rest of his top 10 changes:

6) All teams must have 12 5-tool outfielders on the active roster.

7) All minor league pitching prospects must throw 300 innings so they would require Tommy John surgery after their first year in the organization.

8) All GM's must wear leather pants.

9) All GM's must disrespect legendary figures in organizations, i.e. Tommy Lasorda.

10) All GM''s must drink and drive.
