DK's boy pulled over DUI and speeding

OAKLAND -- Oakland A's pitcher Esteban Loaiza was arrested on DUI charges early Wednesday after driving his Ferrari in excess of 120 mph, the Oakland Tribune reported.

Loaiza, 34, was pulled over about 3:30 a.m. on northbound Highway 238 near San Lorenzo when he was stopped, a California Highway Patrol spokesman said.

Loaiza was arrested for reckless driving and driving under the influence when he failed a Breathalyzer test, CHP Officer Mike Wright said. Loaiza still was scheduled to start the series finale Thursday against the Seattle Mariners.

Loaiza, who signed a three-year, $21 million contract with the A's in November, spent the night at North County Jail and likely will face steep fines and probation because of the combined charges, Wright said.

I understand that there has been no real update on this, however, as far as I can remember this ended up his career. I tried confirming it from my uncle who works for a Los Angeles DUI attorney and he couldn’t do it.
