Is there any good reason for them to do so? If they do, I figure the public backlash would hurt both the MLBPA and Owners

Then out of fairness to the others you will be Slagathor.
yah, thats what i am thinking. they would be nimwits to do so, since they would be crucified in the court of public opinion. and of lawmakers too, who really would take matters into their own hands.Originally Posted by Fishercat

Yeah, but they really didn't want their guys suspended for 50, 100, Life. I could see them wanting to change the length of suspensions.

This is why I hate Labor Unions. I think I've been on the Management side of every labor dispute this side of 1912.
labor unions were made to protect the employees from getting screwed over by the employer, but unfortunatly some people have took it for grant it, some players do, and the mass majority of them dont
what even makes it better is how the congress is getting involved, like they have nothing better to do?
If MLB and MLBPA dont get a deal done, both of them deserve the blame, not just one side

I think that if MLBPA does revoke the testing policy, you will see Congress step in in a heartbeat. They are dying to grandstand on this issue.
First off, welcome Freeze, and I absolutely agree with you. Congress will step in and make an even harsher policy if the current one is nixed.

Welcome Freeze... I am in a Sim league with him, great guy who knows his baseball.
And I agree, Congress is standing back waiting on any oppurtunity to jump in on this issue. They've been sticking their nose in this and there's nothing more that they would like than to have the ultimate reason to put their foot in the door.
"They asked me if I wanted the ball in Game 6, and I said yes. I'll always say yes. That's what I did with Jack McKeon. I told him, 'Let me see how I feel tomorrow.' I went out, did a long toss, came in and said, 'I'll pitch, I want it, I want to do it.' And it ended up working out." -Josh Beckett
