How does one get 257 strikeouts in a game?

You strike out the first two batters of an inning, then strike out the third, but he gets to first base on a wild pitch or passed ball. Then you strike out the fourth batter, but he also gets to first base on a wild pitch. Then you strike out the fifth batter, but he also gets to first base on a wild pitch. Then you strike out the sixth batter, but he ... etc.

I want to know what relevance 257 is supposed to hold to the question. The question is who holds the record etc., etc., so it's blatantly obvious that 257 is not the answer, unless I missed the career of SP 257.
