    Bonds in Trouble

As you all know, the feds are investigating whether Barry Bonds committed perjury when he said he never knowingly used steroids. I don't think there a way to prove it unless they got pics, blood samples. How can you prove if someone took steroids years ago? What do you think the outcome will be?

I hope he's gound guily of perjury so that he won't torment my poor Braves pitching any longer.

I think I'm tired of the whole thing. While I'm of the opinion that Barry is a world class jerk I do think all of the focus on him is a bit unfair considering that we know that Mr Viagra lied at the steroid hearings and that there are plenty of other players that were involved in the juice era. I still say this all falls on the lap of Bud Selig. That said, Pete Rose is banned for life for betting on baseball so if Barry is found guilty then he has nobody to blame but himself. They wouldn't be pursuing a grand jury investigation if they didn't have some pretty strong evidence.

I hope they find him guilty, so I won't have to hear anymore about how baseball is trying rid steroids.

Once they get their guy, it's ova.

Okay, so he lied and is steadfast in his lie,I think it's pretty obvious that he done them, is that what this is really about, the fact that he lied, or is the fact that he is about to pass Ruth? Forget Hank Aaron, he was to workmanlike and low key a real babyface in his career and post career, we have forgotten that he passed Ruth.

I just wonder what they really hope to accomplish out of all of this?

Just leave Ruth out of it, different era's and Ruth will never stop being recognized as the face of baseball.

Beyond the stonewall facade Barry puts on, he cares more than you or me about what other people think of him, and despite his fame and fortune, he'll never get an appeal of his conviction in the court of public opinion, and that alone I believe is enough.

Barry's witholding of classified information is much less important than the work our government should be doing instead of getting involved in battle of he said she said with a grown baby playing a kids game.

It's going to be hard to convict him of perjury since he said that he took a clear substance thought to be flaxseed oil.

He used it(steroids), but did not know it. This is what he said. If you can't prove otherwise case over. If you can, than do what you need to do. At this point, either way will work for me, because right its the game not the courts that has my interest!

I know we all want this to go away but it simply won't at this point.

Investigate if they must (I have no control over this) but do it quick and do it now. Don’t let this drag on and ruin the friggin’ baseball season for so many fans.. It pisses me off that the Federal ****ing Government has to get involved at this point. Like they don't have better and more important things to do. Too busy "spreading democracy" in the Middle East? What bullshit.

Anyway, if the Feds decide to make something out of this and make Bonds the fall guy they will. They did it to that b*tch Martha Stuart and they could easily do it to Bonds. Whatever.

So my point is we're probably going to talk about this whether some like it or not until it's somehow put to rest. That is why I think baseball was wrong in opening up this can of worms again. It's over and done with – or should be.

    As always, just my opinion.

They are investigating whether or not Bonds lied abut anything under oath.

Seems like a witch hunt to me but hell I'm not on the Grand Jury so dunno...but there is something to it. They been meeting for like 2-3 weeks apparently.

What pisses me off is that baseball turned a blind eye and deaf ear to all of this until the federal government stepped in.

People are saying Bonds and all the other 'roid heads killed the integrity of the game.In reality,MLB killed the intregety of the game by not stepping up YEARS ago and putting a stop to it.

I think this should be the punishment for testing positive for ANY of the banned substances:

First time: 2 year BAN-you aren't even allowed to buy a ticked to a minor league game

Second time: LIFETIME BAN FROM BASEBALL

Personally,I think this is worse than Pete Rose betting on baseball.
    Cleveland Indians : 0-5, 5th AL Central
Pittsburgh Pirates Record: 3-2. 1st NL Central

Yeah, I love how Selig is acting like its such a crime now a while back but when McGwire and Sosa were saving baseball with the long ball he sat back clapping his hands watching. Then when the goverment decided to get involved here comes Selig ready to point the finger at players suspected...

Not to Selig: Remember when you are pointing your finger, you have 4 more pointing back at you. Lucky for you the Feds are to dumbfounded to even begin to look at what you chose to ignore and now you are willing to destroy the very players that allow you to keep your job. Maybe one day when you think your conscience is clear, you will wake up and instead of saying "I was able to witness one of the most miracalous things in baseball history of Bonds chasing Ruth's and Aaron's record while I was commish", you can instead say "Man, I really screwed things up and if anything I am more hated because of the things I have done in baseball, instead of the things I tried to do right." Oh and more thing, as baseball fans we may forgive, but we never forget... Most of us may not care for Bonds either as a person, but don't denie him the record he is going for because you chose to close your eyes and ears years ago when you knew it was going on, so don't try and act like the new Sheriff in town thats supposed to clean things up. The damage is done and baseball will never accept you, SO QUIT TRYING!
"They asked me if I wanted the ball in Game 6, and I said yes. I'll always say yes. That's what I did with Jack McKeon. I told him, 'Let me see how I feel tomorrow.' I went out, did a long toss, came in and said, 'I'll pitch, I want it, I want to do it.' And it ended up working out." -Josh Beckett

I agree, and the sad thing is,I HATE Bonds. But let his records stand without and asterick, unless you agree to wipe out the records/asterick of anyone else that used drugs that are now banned, and that INCLUDES Big Mac and Slammin' Sammy.

You're right and that is exactly the problem. How the heck are they ever gonna do that? The record book would be a mess if they really went through with such a plan (asterisk this guy and that guy) plus you would neverr know if the "got" everybody. it's just ludicrous.
