Mar 12 Zack Greinke (elbow) said Tuesday that he "doesn't know" whether he'll be ready for his April 2 outing.

Greinke is currently slated to start the Dodgers' second regular-season game -- following Opening Day starter Clayton Kershaw -- but he has been diagnosed with inflammation in the back of his right elbow and may have to take it easy over the next couple of weeks. It's a scary situation for Los Angeles given that Greinke signed a $147 million free agent contract this offseason.

Two division rivals were able to turn their surpluses into useful parts with a trade this afternoon. The Dodgers will receive catcher Ramon Hernandez with starter Aaron Harang and $4.25MM heading to Colorado.

However, Harang probably won't stay in Colorado for long. Soon after the deal, the Rockies announced that they designated the hurler for assignment. They'll look to find a taker for him over the next ten days and unload his contract.

Should've waited a few more hours when John Lackey re-injured his arm or saved Harang for another team in need of an innings eater, instead of settling for a 36-year old backup catcher hitting .217, but it's useless to try to make sense of Colletti's moves so I don't know why I even bother anymore.

Crazy turn of events, grienke has been diagnosed with a broken collarbone. Does this kill playoff hopes? Or are they never quite out of it with Clayton.

As of this moment, the pitching staff has bigger problems with shitty run support from the offense (aside from Crawford and A-Gon), but yeah, this probably kills us, with Capuano taking Greinke's spot and thus leaving no depth behind Beckett's continuing decline.
