"appears close" is a gay sports cliche!
Marshall: MILSWANCAs?
Ted: Wait, I can get this. Mothers I'd like to sleep with and never call again.
Barney: Circle gets the square!

It would be interesting to see if this can happen before the Winter Meetings. I'm hoping it does for the good of the game.
That's my concern, a repeat of the slow transition to the McCourt ownership that handcuffed then-GM Dan Evans from offering a deal to any major free agent at the time, namely, Vladimir Guerrero.

Or worse, whats going on with Houston at the moment. Thats been taking a long time to finish up. Albeit they've got no shot at signing anyone, or going anywhere at the moment.
How do you feel about the O'Malley possibly owning the team again?
That depends on who else is in the group that O'Malley is putting together to buy the team, because who knows how much of his fortune he is willing to put back into the team? The reason he sold the team in the first place was to protect his beneficiaries (his three children and his sister's ten children) from a huge estate tax in the event he kicked the bucket while still the Dodgers owner.
It's also being reported that the Dodgers won't be able to finalize a deal for 4-6 months making it impossible for the Dodgers to sign any significant FA's.Tom Golisano, the former owner of the NHL's Buffalo Sabres, is preparing a bid to purchase the Dodgers, according to Craig Karmin and Matthew Futterman of the Wall Street Journal. Golisano is "one of the first to declare an interest in buying the franchise who actually has the money to pull off the transaction," according to the report.
His boner just grew when the chargers lost and he got to post in the NFL thread again, predictably one second after the final whistle.
HAHA Sorry, you know I don't want that to happen
I love how McCourt bought the Dodgers for $430 million and now eight years later it's being reported that he needs to sell the team for at least $1.2 billion just to break even. I didn't think something like that could be possible.
