1988 Dodgers: where are they now?
An oldie from two years ago by the L.A. Times, but still a goodie.

Re: 1988 Dodgers: where are they now?
In his podcast with Buster Olney, The Sports Guy named the '88 Dodgers as the worst World Series champion ever. He quips that in a simulated season by whatifsports.com, that team would always finish 50-112 because they were statistically a disaster, but if you throw it in the faces of Dodger fans, they would get all upset. I don't know about other fans, but I look at it as huge F.U. to the Oakland A's and in particular, the 'Roid Brothers.

Re: 1988 Dodgers: where are they now?
Citing results on whatifsports as some sort of empirical proof of how good a team is has got to be the dumbest thing I've ever heard.

He referenced that just to make his point that the lineup was a disaster, but you only need to check baseball-reference.com to see he's not wrong. For instance, the two corner infielders, Franklin Stubbs and Jeff Hamilton, were pretty much busts.

I thought the Reds of 1990 were worse than the 88 Dodgers.
