Rival agents think #Dodgers will offer Zach Lee somewhere in the neighborhood of $3 million..
... at least one of them thinks that might be enough to get it done. Take that for what it's worth.

Are Dodgers being cost-effective, or just cheap? - latimes.com
I imagine that would be the plan next year. One popular theory says the cash-strapped Dodgers selected Lee with the 28th overall pick because he was unlikely to sign, saving the team more than $1 million in bonus money.
But White has a defender who will speak in draft expert Jim Callis, executive editor at Baseball America.
"To me, that makes no sense," Callis says of the conspiracy theory.
If the Dodgers fail to sign Lee, Callis points out, they'll get two first-round picks next season. So rather than saving $1 million, all they're really doing is deferring that payment.
"I can't believe that they're actually going to run their business to where you're never going to sign the first-round picks," he says. "If you wanted to be cheap, what you do is you would overdraft a guy and sign him for $700,000 or something."

The Dodgers just leaked this out to try to show fans that they tried their hardest.
I still doubt they'll sign him.

Is this the signing of the draft? Dodgers ink No.1 Zach Lee for $5.25 million | Dodgers Blog | Los Angeles TimesThe 6-foot-4, right-handed pitcher will forgo a chance to play football at Louisiana State to pursue a baseball career.
They got him. And he didn't come cheap either.
In a major coup for the Los Angeles Dodgers, at the 11th hour they signed No. 1 pick Zach Lee for $5.25 million spread over five years.
Minutes before Monday’s 9 p.m. deadline, they signed Lee.
Now many will call this the signing of the draft. When other teams grew fearful and backed off, the Dodgers gambled and stepped up.
Padre fans before Zach Lee was signed: The Dodgers ought to be stripped of their comp pick next year for tanking their pick!!
After: He signed? Damn. I mean, oh well, I hope they blew their last remaining cent on him.
I love the signing. A little high, but I really liked Zach Lee.

Proof that Logan White and Co. weren't bullshitting about wanting Zach Lee all along. You know they couldn't leave out the part where Logan thanks McCourt for his support. Interesting that their choice came down to Lee and Noah Syndergaard.

Man, what a terrible pick. Could've had the cheaper Syndergaard instead, and used the savings the following year on Sonny Gray and his signability issues instead of taking that worthless fuck Chris Reed. Logan White was the worst scouting director.
